Sarsilmaz Range report

I took my newly acquired Sarsilmaz Hancer 2000 (imported by Academy) to the indoor range today and I and a few others are impressed. A range buddy who has a CZ 75B wants one to replace his S&W 640..... he found it fit in the same holster and the controls are a match to his CZ. It digested about 175 rounds of 115 to 125 grn FMJs and HPs without a burp. It even worked with a full sized (15 round) CZ 75 magazine. Here is a pic of a 13 round rapid fire group at 25 feet.

Academy sells the Hancer 2000 for $399 and a little larger Kama (15 shot) for $429.

Don't the folks at Academy know they can go the Armalite route and claim it's the newest and sexiest thing out there and get well over $500 for a Turkish CZ clone?

That aside, the Hancer looks like it's a nice shooter. Is it compact size? Subcompact?

Greetings kjeff50cal -- so you did get one after all? I'm quite happy with the one that I picked up on sale (for $359) about two weeks ago. It functioned perfectly with all ammo except for the steel cased wolf. The frame-to-slide fit is nice and tight, so accuracy was very good at 15 yards. I'll be taking it with me to Big Bend Nat'l Park this weekend. You're the fellow who works at Academy, aren't you...do you know if Academy is going to have a sale on the Kama pistol as well?

Another question: did you shoot at Marksman's in SE Houston? That seems to be the cheapest range in Houston these days, and a nice range too.

kjeff50cal -- Let me know when you normally go shoot at Marksmen please. I shoot there normally about every 2 weeks and I would love to check out the new toy in action. I was thinking of getting one but I was not sure If it was worth it. Which store do you work at by the way?

The Hancer is kinda between compact and sub-compact if that makes since.

MPanova, I go to Marksman every 2 weeks or when weather chases me from Bailey's. My schedule is for the most part up to my manager and varies from week to week. I'll PM you when I show up next.
