I bought a J.C. Higgins Model 20, 12ga(I believe the same as a High Standard Model 200) a few years back for 80 bucks at a pawn shop. It's never been a looker, but works great. It currently has a few bumps and bruises on it, but nothing too terrible.

Anyways, I'm preparing to strip, sand, re-stain, and cold blue. I'll be using stuff available at sprawl mart and any local hardware store.

If there's an interest, I'll be taking pics along the way for personal reference, and it wouldn't be very hard to post them up here for public knowledge.

I would be interested is seeing your results and hearing the process you use. Mart type of blue products never worked for me.

I Did do a old shotgun barrel over 10 years ago with Oxphy-Blue that still looks great following tips from Brownell's Kinks books. They also sell some very good blueing for shotguns that can be applied without caustic bluing tanks.
