Ok, I had posted before about the insane recoil of my 500 mag located in this thread:

http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=327299

It has now been about 2 weeks or more and the right hand palm is still in pain. It hurts to hold any of my pistols, pick up a frying pan etc.

It's not like screaming pain anymore but more like a bruised bone feeling. It does not ache but just very sensitive to pressure still.

So my question is am I actually injured??? As in should I possibly go to the doctor and have my hand x-rayed for fractures? It the bone "bruised"?

I'm starting to get actually kind of worried because after last week it's not getting any better. I know that if I shot any of my pistols I would be in pain at this point, and well from a CCW point, I really don't like that.

Has anyone else had any issues like this??? And if so how long did it take to clear up?

And to reply from the last posts on the other thread, no I am on no medication, still youngish 30 something, and do not bruise easily at all, and have a relatively decent pain tolerance.

Could be a hairline fracture. Or it could be the bone is bruised (it does happen).

Since its not getting any better, my bet is on the hairline fracture, though. I've had bruised bones (from playing football) and they seemed to heal fairly quickly.

However, most of us aren't doctors, and the ones who are would probably need to examine it in order to tell. If you are concerned, you should probably go see a doctor.

Yes, I think you're actually injured. Pain is a valuable feedback mechanism.

Go see a doctor. Although unlikely, it would suck to have a permanent injury in a hand.

Good luck to you, sir.

injury

many are getting injured in hand and wrist from massive hand gun cart.why do you think the gloves are being made.my 45 colt is bigest I want.rifles are for use with heavy cart.have the doc check your head too. :):uhoh::confused::banghead:

I cracked my hand against a pool table (short stick, overzealous shooter) and it gave me a bit of pain for about a month. Asked my wife's doctor about it while I was at the hospital and she told me that lower blood flow to your hands lengthens the healing time of injuries there. Should have gotten it checked out but now the pain is gone and I have a small bump at the impact spot. Go on and go see the doctor, better safe than sorry.
