CZ-52 Sights

I'd like to get better (maybe even night sights) for my 52. Any ideas?

I knew about the regular replacements. Was just hoping that somebody knew of where I could get better ones. The pistol shoots really well, better than I can, but with better sights I could probably do even better.

I'll check that out. I had a bad case of West Nile Virus last fall and it messed a bit with my eyes. Couldn't be that I'm getting older, either, I suppose.

I am fairly handy w/tools. I just need to know which sights to mount. Brigadier's suggestion of the Baby Eagle rear night site and the Sig front sounded good and the prices from CDNN are good, too.
Which sites did you use?

Ok, I'm back. I hope that I don't have to change addresses again soon. What a pain!!
I finally got a chance to see the pics of your 52, Brig. BEEYOUTEEFUL!!!!!
Man what a great job you did! I don't think I'll ever get to doing that but it sure looks great!
Woad Yurt, I'll wait 'til Brigadier gets the batteries and tells me what height to get. I'm not too swift at going out on a limb. I'm ok once somebody has walked me through it but until then I'm afraid that I'll screw it up.
I did get an extended safety from Cylinder and Slide for my Browning High Power 9mm and got it in without too much trouble. The books I have didn't tell me that the sear spring was going to come out and there wasn't a word on how to get it back where it belonged, but I got everything pinned in place and then positioned the top of the spring where it needed to be and then used a lg brass drift across the magwell and then bent the bottom of the spring down while pushing it into the slot at the bottom of the magwell. It shoots and works as well as it ever did so I must have put it back together right.

Long time no hear from.
I e-mailed you but I don't know if you got it.
Anyway, if you have the height of the rear sight for the 52 I sure could use it. I still want to get the night sites installed and I have the front but CDNN no longer has nor will be stocking the baby eagle rear night sight, so I'm waiting for your info so I get the right height.
I got one of the sniper stocks from Midway for my Savage .308 and love it!!
It fits better than the original and is about as adjustable as it could be. I've been loading a bunch of test loads so I can get the best one for hunting and such. It's a heavy stock but that helps to soak up the nasty recoil that bruises me so badly. I'm taking so many chemo and arthritis meds that I bruise like an eggplant without a pad and a heavy stock. $154.00 is a lot to pay for a stock when you are on disability but I've been wanting one for about 3 years now and finally decided I'd saved enough to do it. I'm not disappointed.

About Paints and Painting

I happened to remember that I have some Kustom Kolor military color paints from the House of Kolor that are brush-on/ air brush type. They are in a complete military paint assortment
They look to be quality paints for model builders, kind of like Testors. Do you think that these would work in the same way that you painted and baked the finish on your 52?
Since I have never done any of this kind of finishing of metal I assume that you either air brush or just carefully hand brush the paint on the various pieces/parts, let the finish dry completely and then when you have all of the various pieces painted you hang them in the oven at the required 300 degs. for the 2 hours. Do you leave them in the oven after you turn it off and let them cool down slowly until cold or take them out hot and then allow them to cool outside of the oven at room temp?
Just curious as I obviously don't want to screw anything up along the way.
Do you have to degrease / remove the original finish before painting or can you degrease and then just paint over the original finish? Mine is kind of what looks like parkerized which gives it a soft almost velvety look to it, now. It would seem that if the new color took on the texture of the parkerization that it would be better camo than a slick glossy blue painted over with flat colors.
Any thoughts? I really like what you've done with yours but I would like mine to be a little more subdued.

Thanks for the info but I alrady tried that. Unfortunately, the West Nile Virus I got last fall has messed with the eyes enough that it is going to take something a bit larger/brighter, I guess. I changed the sights on my Browning HP to night sights and that has me back to hitting like I used to. As you know, the CZ 52 has pretty small sights and I think that is most of the problem for me. I can pick them up but it takes a long time. More than it should, anyway. Sooooo, I guess I'll wait for Brigadier's measurements since I got half of the night sight set so far.
