I just picked up a Superior Arms lower. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to use the set screw that Superior puts in the receiver that would sit under the grip?

IIRC, it's an overtravel screw. You tighten it up to just after the trigger's breaking point. Taking the overtravel out of a trigger can help the pull seem lighter, and help your trigger break more consistently.

....just AFTER the trigger's breaking point?

In most AR hammer/trigger systems you will see that the hammer moves back slightly as the trigger is pulled, until the trigger nose releases the hammer. You want to make sure that there is still some rearward movement of the hammer when you adjust the takeup screw. You'll also want to make sure the hammer slides from the disconnector to the trigger nose cleanly, without slipping off.

Taking up some of the slack is great. Reducing the sear engagement too far is dangerous. Make sure the hammer doesn't fall if you bounce the rifle butt off the floor enthusiastically.

ps - a great addition is a little moly grease on the nose of the trigger and disconnector hook. It makes things slide much nicer.

Its to preload the trigger so that there is less take-up, they claim you can get a match trigger using mil-spec parts but I dont buy it.

It does get better, but not what I would call match-grade. I experimented with my 9mm RRA using the grip screw, without the grip installed. I may drill and tap my rimfire lower the same as SA does theres, or I may just get a screw that's too long and file it down as needed.

I second Amish Bill's comment about the sear engagement. However, when I was playing around with mine I had took out so much take-up I dont see how the safety would function, so if you go by Superior's instructions, you should be okay.

Okay, so I got it backwards. I can't even remember all the stuff I've forgotten...:D
