Tonights entertainment at the casa de guns was to pull out examples of nearly all the major military .223 rifle designs and compare, contrast, and play with them. Alyone care to ID everything in the photo? :) It normally wouldn't be too difficult, but the poor angle will add to the challenge. :uhoh:

We decided that the best of the bunch was the FNC (oops, I guess that gives away one, doesn't it?).

On the left, I see a 20 inch A2 and two more AR carbines. There is an AUG clone, possibly but not necessarily a Microtech, 2 AKs, and a third if you count the Valmet. I have the FNC being 4th from the top on the left.

I can't tell what the one directly above it is. It looks like it could possibly be another AK or a Galil.

On the right you have a Galil and a SIG 556. Then comes what appears to be a FAL. The handguards aren't FNC, so it is kind of confusing...Underneath that looks like an HK93 or clone, the barrel assembly for a Robinson Armament M96, and what I am guessing is an AR180. Then you got another M96, this a complete rifle, and a Daewoo completing the row.

Bottom left: M16a2 clone

Bottom right: Daewoo K2

2nd left: Steyr AUG a1 w/ 20 inch barrel installed

2nd right: Robinson Arms M96 Expeditionary Rifle

3rd left: Railed M4 carbine clone

3rd left: Kel Tec SU-16C

bottom middle: AR-180, appears to be original metal-receivered version.

Top middle: Bushmaster armpisol

4th left: Colt commando

4th right: HK33 or 53?

5th left: Some sort of AK. Slanted gas block indicates pre-100 series. Polish perhaps?

5th right: Sporter HK of some sort.

6th left: FN FNC

6th right: SIG-556?

7th left: ???

7th right: Galil

8th right: Underfolding AK of some sort. Yugoslavian?

9th right: Beretta 70 or possible obscure SIG variant.

MISSING 5.56 service rifles/clones (for shame!)

FN F2000 (Slovenia, FS200 sporter version readily obtainable in US)
CETME L (Spain, were parts kits ever imported?)
FAMAS (France, quite rare in the US)
Type 97 (Cambodia, you could theoretically get one from Canada and have compliance parts specially made Stateside)
Tavor (Israel, Columbia, ditto)
Robinson Arms XCR (rumor has it that someone's using it, readily obtainable in the US)
HK G36 (Germany, SLR-8's can be made into a passing imitation)
KH2002 (Iran, probably nearly impossible to legally, or illegally obtain)
SAR-21 (Singapore, there does not appear to have ever been a semi-auto civilian version)
HK416 (Norway, there are a few floating out there)
AC556 (Jamaica? others? select fire version of Ruger mini-14)

Sorry, I must have lost track. I recognize the distinct conical piece of perforated metal coming out the front of the FNC handguard.

What I don't recognize is the one directly above the FNC and to the left of the SIG-556.

Not my guns, this is part of a friend's collection (we'll do .308 battle rifle night and automatic rifle night another time, and I'll get photos of those, too).

Anyway, nobody has gotten the list exactly, but they've all been identified by someone. On the left, top down, they are a Beretta AR70/90, Yugo underfolder AK, Galil, FNC, mixmaster fixed stock AK, CAR-15, M4gery, Steyr AUG, and AR-15. On the right, top down, another Galil (lighter barrel), Sig 556, Springfield SAR-4800, HK93, Bushmaster pistol, Keltec SU16, Costa Mesa AR-180 (with original Armalite scope), Robarm M96, and Daewoo K1A1.

We left the duplicates back in the gun room.

The FS-2000 and SL-8 are on order. He the needs to pick up a Daewoo K2 and FAMAS, among a couple others.
