I'm changing the post because some people can't understand a joke, I specifically said it was a joke, but a few people still got upset that I wasn't being PC correct, so the post is gone. My only intention was to discuss ridiculous laws with my US neighbors, but some people misunderstood, so for that I apologize.

O-RLY?

You are soliciting for someone to commit a felony on Teh Intarwebz? :scrutiny:

I have a simple solution: Expatriate yourself to the USofA and this will no longer be an issue, and rest assured, we don't have Restricted or Prohibited attached to ARs (yet..)

I was bringing humor into the crappy situation, I would never ask someone to break the law.
Though I was interested in moving to Corpus Christi at one point last year. Until I found out the process of getting a green card can take me 5 years, even though I am a educated productive citizen, it still takes quite awhile. No wonder so many people just sneak in.

It is illegal to export most gun parts and many gun accessories without an appropriate export license.

I doubt anyone on this board knows the answer to this, but if it is feasible to get an export license, it seems like the problem is solved on the U.S. side of the border.

On the Canadian side, however, I have even less of an idea of how hard it would be to import. But as stated in the OP, Chinese components are being imported. The guns are clearly expensive, so I would guess the import duties could make the cost prohibitive. But why guess?

It is hard to imagine that companies like Bushmaster and Rock River do not export. Have you checked with them to find out if they will export?

Good. I have to admit you threw me for a moment there. We DO NOT allow anyone to recommend or solicit illegal activity on THR.

I believe the US state department has forbidden the export of any and all AR-15/M-16 parts.

You might be able to get an Airsoft knockoff and use it

All your questions have been answered on the canadiangunnutz forum. Asking someone here to commit a felony is not too bright.

Can't anyone take a joke anymore??? Geeeeez calm down Scully.

Um, no we can't.

And, sorry, we don't like friggin' foreigners telling us how to survive in our legal/political environment, thank you.

On the gun board I frequent, www.Calguns.net, there continue to be numerous trolling 'inquiries' about illegal activities (or activties that most likely would evolve into such, depending on interpretations of blurry wording/phrasing).

We believe some large fraction of those posts are by local LE or Calif DOJ Firearms Bureau employees trying to entrap folks, with some fraction also by the Brady types trying to "dis" gun boards by creating impression that they're hangouts for the felonious. Even answering entrapping questions with anything beyond "go away, that's illegal" and a recitation of the law to show why it's illegal could get one in throwing range of conspiracy charges. (This is why, for example, many gunshops will throw your arse out the moment you mention something illegal - either the dude is a crook or a wired-up gov't agent or informer and thus neither should be in a gunshop.)

We don't know you.

In the same way people don't joke about bombs in an airport, jokes about gun related felonies here will not be taken as humorous. They will be taken as someone seriously soliciting a felony. Don't go there.
