I am trying to sell one of my C&R rifles in state (VA) and request the buyer's ID (I do this with modern guns also for a bill of sale). Since we need their ID info (DOB, ID#, and address) for our log books, has anyone run into resitance from potiental buyers about providing this info?

I haven't run into any resistance, but then, I haven't sold any of my C&R guns. As a C&R licensee, we don't have a choice. If the buyer won't provide the required ID information, we can't sell a firearm listed in the bound book to him. Non C&R firearms are governed by state law, of course. For those, the C&R license is irrelevant.

Thanks for the input. I guess the buyers could be concerned of identity theft or really wants to stay anonymous...which is funny since we C&R collectors don't submit forms to BATF.

I believe the requirements are exactly the same as other FFL dealers when you sell guns that you bought under the license.
