I detail stripped my 1991 and had help by gravity... :banghead:

Anyway the transfer system fell out and I'm hoping I got it all back together correctly. This was my first time going that far into a 1991.

TIA

Bill Wilson has a nice 20 some page book on how to completely take apart and re-assemble 1911's. Cleaning, lube, and wear checks are covered, included how to determine when you need to replace a spring.

You can get it from MidwayUSA. Wilson Combat 1911 Auto Maintenance Manual. Runs about $11.00.

You really ought to have it. It'll teach you how to put those parts back in.

Ok, books on order, I hope it includes the 80's series. The stuff I have is OLD and doesn't.

I've function tested the gun and everything seems to do what it's supposed to, I just wanted to make sure...

Give it the 'pencil test' every time you take it apart.

Pencil down the barrel eraser first. Should pop several feet high.

www.youtube.com

Surely there's someone on there who has posted a video of how to do it.;)
That website is a wealth of information.
Everything else imaginable, good or bad, is on there too!...:barf:
