We have stores starting black Friday on Thursday - you can smell the fear in the air.

Going to Wally world to stock up on 9mm to feed my new(bought yesterday) Beretta Storm pawnshop buy at 359.99, never been shot. I finally own a 9mm again, this time I promise not to sell it for a long long time.

"black friday" started early this week for a lot of retailers, gun related or not. Has a lot to do with a crappy economy, and nobody spending money.

I might head to sportsman's warehouse friday to look for a rifle. Not sure yet. Depends on how much I drink thursday night, and whether I feel like even getting out of bed friday.

For gun shops it started 3 weeks ago, on Nov 5th and will continue either to the beginning of Jan. when people run out of money from Christmas, or early February when people realize B.O. isn't going to sign an executive order banning all EBRs and 10+rd mags on his first day in office.

Big 5 Sporting Goods will have M1 Carbines on sale for $599 in their doorbuster sale. They are usually in pretty crappy shape, but I guess some of them have real collector value. I don't know what the SRP on those really is, but that's the lowest I've ever seen them at Big 5.

They had 'em here for like, $3somethin not long ago. They were pretty crappy though...

That's good news on the M1s at Big 5, they've been trying to move them at $999 for months now. I just today bought a used Ruger Mini 14 off GunBroker so may not have the spare $s for an M1 too......but you never know!!

This isn't really helping anyone but I'm taking my son fishing. My wife is better suited to the whole shopping riot that goes on every year and you couldn't get me near a retail store untill after Christmas.

Big 5 is having some good Ammo sales (dont know if they beat WalMart), and cheap Ruger 1022 $219/$249 for stainless. Also lots of shotgun deals

The cheapest without a C&R I've found is JG sales, add to that shipping and transfer, I'd be looking at $100 for MN.

Getting one local for for $79 + tax leaves room for the rifle and some ammo... it is an alright deal.

If I didn't work in retail you couldn't drag my out of the house tomorrow. As it is I'll be at work at 4 AM. A friend called me this morning to tell me there were already people camped out in the parking lot with tents and all. Sure not worth it to me to save a hundred bucks on a TV.

I'm staying home to stay out of the mess. I can't stand crowds as it is...

I'm going to check hog traps and finish one trap that I'm building now. Maybe an afternoon deer hunt. And I've got to go to O'reilly's auto parts and gripe at someone because I've gotten three non-functioning temp gauges for my truck. They'll all go to about 160 and stop, and the truck runs at around 210 according to the laser thermometer my mechanic uses.

Spent my fun budget on ammo from 'theinvisibleheart' for this month. But hopefully I can up my budget soon. I went on the screening/interview for TDCJ and hopefully will be working for the state soon. Just waiting on the background check.

Other than that that, not much of nothing else. I may start on a deer stand that I've had in my head for a while, but it's going to cost a few hundred to build.

I refuse to go to retail stores from Black Friday until after Christmas. The wife will make the occasional trip if we start running low on something or other. But I've got too much of an "I hate stupid people" complex to be surrounded by large quantities of idiots at one time.

I MAY go pick up a few things if it's raining. Otherwise I'll be hunting.
I don't think I'll get one but Academy has the Heritage Roughrider .22 single action on sale for $99 and the Taurus PT-111 for $229. They also have a good deal on WWB 9mm.
Looks like Home Depot and Lowe's are having some great sales too. I may swing by and pick up a couple of the Maglite LED lights for half price and maybe a shop vac.

Bass Pro is selling Marlin Model 60's with a scope for $130. Don't know if its nationwide or just local.
