I'm seeing one for $565 on Bud's Gunshop. A .45 ACP handgun with a 14 shot capacity and an external hammer is my business. I'm willing to bet that it's going to be really wide and whatnot but right now I have a Ruger P89 and it fits my hand like a glove. I'd like to see some reviews about it, some range reports, and the sort. Try to keep it to 1st hand experiences. Pics are encouraged. If I decide to get it, I'll be using it for HD and OC (I doubt I could CC it).

i am interested in seeing how the fn's perform as well, i know there are fn owners out there but range reports about them and general reviews of them are few and far between on here and other forums.

hope some folks give us the low down.

Gunblast is not exactly objective.

However here are the headlines on the FNP-45.

Good gun for the price. Bulky and top heavy. The FNP-40 and FNP-9 get rave reviews up and down the line, but the FNP-45 you need to have large hands to really appreciate it. If I were in the market for a poly .45 I would look at the XD-45 or possibly the M&P .45.

You can click on the link further down to read my "average guy" range and performance review on the FNP-45 / FNP-45 USG.

Some folks are concerned with reports about the FNP-45's large size. Like most locker room tales, things seem a bit exagerated when actually seeing the real thing. I have size 8.5 hands (surgical glove). Here I am holding my FNP-45 USG. As you can see, it's hardly "overly" large in my hands. With mags in the well I didn't find it top heavy or hard to shoot even with the tac light attached.

Although known throughout the world, FN is not as well known to Americans who have not served in the military...and even then the company is more known to those in the Combat branches of the various US Armed Services.

FN's reputation for quality, customer satisfaction and service is second to none. And, lately, they're becoming even more reknowned for their "blue collar" prices of their FNP sidearms...all made in the USA!

I'm for the FNP-45 USG!

The FNP-45 USG is a combat handgun that is proving to be Good to Go" right out of the case. It holds 14+1 rounds with the regular magazines, 15+1 rounds with the extended mag (shown below). All FNP's come with three magazines. The FNP-45 USG comes with two 14 rd mags and one 15 rounder. The 1913 front rail can hold tac lights (also shown). The perceived recoil is repeatedly reported to be equal to or less than most 9mm auto-loaders. The selector switch is both Safety and Decocker allowing one to carry "Cocked & Locked." The grip needs no "add-ons" for dependable handling. And it's selling from $485-$550 around the nation.
