Saw one of these in (I think) .38 special - what all calibers can you get with the 3" bbl? I've always like the 3s, but I know nothing of Charter Arms.

My best friend's Charter 2000 .38 fired about 50 rounds and then the timing went way off. Craftsmanship was poor and fitting was sloppy. The gun was new in 2000, but I think the company has changed hands multiple times and their quality was decent I think back in the 70-80s?

OK, anyone else? Quality good or poor now?

Constantine, here are the grammatical corrections necessary for your sig quote to be accurate:

''When you['re] pushed[,] killin[']s as easy as breathin[.]''

I couldn't,with a clear consience, reccomend a charter revolver. They are by design, have weak crane and not meant to be shot a lot. Yes,I know some of them do hold up BUT they aren't NOWHERE NEAR as strong as other revolvers. Get a ruger or S & W and you'll NEVER have to look back. I've had a BUNCH of them come into my shop for repair or to be sent back for repair. Having owned a couple personally didn't exactly make them appeal to me either.

Have One

I have a 44 . Bought it back in 1975. Shot it 1000 times with 44 mag type
loads. Never a problem. Back then, I called the CEO of the company I think
his name was Doug Mclillen or something like that. I remember him telling me
that no way was I ever going to blow up the little gun. I wonder if they are
made different now.

The Pathfinder in .22 LR was made in a three inch version.
I have an older one that was refurbished by the current factory. It's a good shooting, accurate little gun.

I have an old CA 3" Bulldog that has held up well and is very accurate, but many things have changed since they made that gun. I have no idea about the current stuff. I do have to keep tightening everything, but other than that, I like it.

I have a feeling that Rambo wouldn't know the difference anyways.

I have a few of the new Charters and they have not given me any issues. I like 'em. But to each, their own.

Lol, I dont think Rambo would know the difference either, and I know it is not proper punctuation, that's why I wrote it like that in the first place!!! Rambo would be proud!!! Live for nothing or die for somesing, lol.

I have a couple Charter Arms 38's w/ at least 5000 rounds thru each and they both are just as tight as the day they left the factory ... both are about 20 years old ... I don't target shoot w/ +Ps but when I carry them that's what they're loaded with ...
