Broken Ejector?

The picture looks like the ejector in my Colt Delta Elite 10mm.

Just took this picture for reference.

I thought all 1911 used extended ejectors these days...guess I was wrong.
I was thinking Springer did use an extended ejector on all their pistols, but looking closer at the pic, I think this is one of the GI/Milspec models. They must use the traditional ejectors on these...

Anyone know for sure?

Yes, this is a GI model. Seems to me that an extended ejector would function better. I'm experiencing failures where the rim of the empty casing is getting stuck behind the extractor, and the slide is closing partially on it. When I lock the slide back, the casing remains stuck behind the extractor, and I have to wiggle it real hard to get it loose.

It sounds like your extractor is WAY too tight. A case or round should be able to be slide under the extractor with ease.

Bingo. This is an extractor issue, not an ejector issue. Extended ejectors can compensate for different loads or poor extractors, but a standard 1911 should function with factory ammo and a standard extractor like you have.

PS - is this doing this with factory ammo, or what is the story with that brass in your picture - is that just some range pick-up you are using for demonstration purposes, or is that what is being fired in your gun?
