I carry a H&K USP CT .45 in an IWB in my lower back. I wear a t-shirt over it and tuck in the shirt, then I wear a big baggy Army Unit Sweatshirt over it.

I was at a mall, out of town somewhere in the south. My wife surprised me and took me to one of those oxygen bar places because I mentioned never going to one before. During the "experience" the hostess comes behind me and takes some vibrating massager thingy up and down my back.

And before I can say what I rehearsed in my mind saying in just such a scenario "Please dont do my lower back, I have back problems" ;)

She bumps "it" with the massager and instantly leans in over my shoulder and says "You are wearing your gun today arent you?"

I was speechless  , it was my first outing. I mentioned I had a permit and I pulled it out, and she is like, "its ok, I have one too, I carry a 9mm".

She said she carries because of the gang bangers in the area. I was carrying because I know people who were mugged in that town. The mall wasn't "posted". Its good to know there are more "of us" out there than meets the eye, I would not have guessed that she carried. Im glad we are out there practicing our rights.

Given her comment, I'd say cool beans. Had she asked "What's that?" it would have been a different situation.:D

If she wasn't a ccw licensee, "whats that" wouldn't be what would come out of her mouth I do believe..I can see the chaos now "he's gotta gun!!!!!!!!!!"

Yeah I lucked out on that one, big time. I think it was all about location, location, location.... the south. Everyone grows up with guns down here.

You should carry IWB at the 12:00 position. Then when someone asks "what's that", well you know where I'm going with this.

"Oxygen bar"...?!

I'm not even an old guy, but that one's beyond me. I've always been under the impression that there's only one kind of oxygen one would want and it's free.

I'll do some research... :uhoh:

Awesome story. :D

A massage parlor chick who has a carry permit? Nothing wrong with that.

"Outed" to me means that someone runs their mouth and tells the world that I carry a gun, or at least a person or persons to whom I would not have willingly divulged such information.

I consider "being made" to mean that someone made it aware to me that they know I'm carrying a gun, even if they didn't share it with anyone or say anything about it.

To me, it sounds like the OP was "made". :)

And the purpose of this is?

Do some research. I did, and I found all of my answers, and I'm thoroughly weirded out.

If you're that interested in achieving an "alternative state of being", you probably don't have a lot to lose. Just go downtown, walk around for a while, and you're bound to find someone willing to sell drugs, yes, even to you, the uber-chic yuppy. No offense to the OP since he called it "one of those oxygen bar places". :)

Rant over. Sorry for the thread drift.

Guns are the best!

I wouldn't worry too much about those kinds of situations. Too many CCW holders seem deathly afraid to have anyone at all know they carry, and treat it as a sacred thing to never let on that they do. To me and everyone I run into it's nothing special; it's only a big deal if you make it one.

and the gal missed out on bonus points by saying "9mm" and not the specific make/model.....:D

Oh, that's just my Python! :)

LOL, you missed a chance to debate the 9 VS 45, LOL good story though.

I was gonna go with King Cobra or Raging Bull :D

Oh, and only someone who carries an HK would go to an "oxygen bar" :neener:

ill tell you what those oxygen bars are good for.....go to las vegas and walk by one of them at about 11:30 am they will knock a hangover clean out. Being a college student with an affinity for the occasional drink i figured those things out the first time i ever went to vegas.
