The most accurate semi-auto I've ever shot, and now have the pleasure of owning :) :D

So far i've put 150-175 rounds through it with zero issues. It's more accurate than I am, that's for sure!

Newer version of the same model I've got, but your frame to slide color match is much closer than on my model.

They sure are sweet, eh? Here's a thought---dunno why, but I shoot mine better with some CT grips installed. Try it, you might like it--though it is an additional chunk of change.

ETA: You might clean it before taking more pics, though--on yours, just like on mine, I can see the carbon residue within the last .5" of the muzzle.

I also just picked up a Kimber - It's my first semi auto. I do notice that my cases are fairly dirty after shooting - this is not something I've seen with my revolvers. How dirty is acceptable?

I have 2 of them myself.
Kimber Custom II
Kimber Ultra Carry II
Both with Night Sights.

Kimber makes some great guns.

Much better then them guys carrying them Hi-points...lol. :neener:

thanks very much guys.

It definitely needs to be cleaned lol, but I'm very happy thus far.

I looked for some CT grips, but it appears they wont fit on the ambidentrous (sp?) safety models. Is there an alternative?

great gun, mine had a teething problem. I sent it back to Kimber and had them work out the kinks with the feeding. Now I can shoot from cheap to the most potent load and everything feeds well.

I love mine!!

Had it for several years. I do my own mods and tuning. :what:

Shoots good too.

15yds with a Rainer 200gn HP over 6.3gn Unique CCI primer. Works in mine pretty well.

File down the right hand thumb safety switch a bit to fit. It works on mine. Easy enough to disengage the safety; reengaging it is difficult, but doable. That being said, I'm also right-handed, so I would be more worried about being able to disengage that safety with my weak hand more than reengaging it, especially for a CCW piece :uhoh:

That's normal with any autoloader. It depends largely on the ammo being used as well.

Congrats on a very nice gun. I love my Kimber Custom II. No problems with it and would like to add another one. Enjoy!

Anyone recommend some tactical mag bottoms? (The bumper plate for 1911 mags). I've found some, but they want $14 per piece, a bit pricey IMO.

I put Kimber mag bumpers on mine, came in a package of 3 or so. Mighta got em off ebay, been a long time.

Isn't the frame of the gun aluminum like the CDP?

I have a CDP and switched to Wilson mags with a plastic follower because the stock Kimber ones were chewing the frame up. I got lucky they missed the ramp. No more metal folowers for me.

Nice gun, I'd throw olive drab gray alumagrips on it.....(been saying that alot lately:uhoh:)

New Kimber

The Kimber Custom 11 I've shot hundreds of rounds thru has been a real Gem. The target on Tinman357's post is pretty typical performance from this gun. Mine is match accurate right from the beginning. I've added Novak Extreme Adjustable sights to mine and this allows shooting different loads. This is my only change from the original stock gun. Enjoy!

I bought a tactical custom II a few months ago. It's my favorite semi-auto that I own. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine so far!
