Just one day after a nightmarish home invasion in Brazos County, authorities are investigating another break-in.

This one happened Tuesday afternoon on Carrabba Road, which is near Coulter Air Field on the northeast side of Bryan.

Sheriff's officials say have a suspect linked to Tuesday's burglary in custody. Shane Vaughan, 18, was arrested after a watchful neighbor, Tim Dunman, noticed a suspicious car in the driveway next door and called authorities. He pulled his car into the driveway.

Before authorities arrived, the homeowner and her grandson came back home.

That's when Vaughan and another man allegedly ran from the house.

"A gentleman had come out of the front door and had equipment in his arms and was running toward his vehicle," Dunman said. "That's when I asked him to stop, told him three times to stop and told him I did have a firearm.

"He would not stop," Dunman continued. "In the meantime, he started backing up into me, and that's when I decided to protect myself and do what I thought was right."

Dunman shot at the car as it drove off. Authorities caught up the car later and arrested Vaughan, who was not reported to be injured.

The other burglar fled on foot. He is described as a Hispanic or light skinned black male wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt, white T-shirt, and blue jeans.

A perimeter was set up around the area, and tracking dogs assisted in the search. In the early evening hours of Tuesday, the search was called off.

FM 1179 was shut down for a portion of the search as the dogs were tracking.

Sheriff's officials do not believe Tuesday's incident is related to a home invasion and robbery a few miles away on Woodville Monday. An elderly couple and their son were tied up as armed men went through the home. No one was injured.

This kind of stuff is going to happen more and more, so get to know your neighbors and watch each others 6's.

someone needs some range time

Well, worked out, he ain't in legal hot water because there are dead perps but I promise those perps are scared and maybe will change their way of life. Which would be a win win win for everyone except for the undertaker.
