Rule of thumb: stay away from Pro-Mag.

They may be the only thing out there, but Pro-Mag has earned a bad reputation for any firearm, and SKS's often don't like anything but the stock integrated mag.

If you don't mind dropping the cash, go ahead and get it for the range. Pro-Mags often work well enough for plinking around, and some few even work flawlessly. But if that's your HD gun, don't leave it attached.

The only ProMags that I know for certain that work are the 20 rounders for the HK SL8.

I will NEVER own another Pro-mag.

EVEN if they were given to me. I wouldn't want to get one mixed up with other magazines if I were actually in an emergency.

I had one in an AK that I owned once. A guy wanted to look at the rifle in my lawn one day. I took the magazine out to let him see it. As I did, I fumbled the magazine and it fell on thick GRASS from about waist high.

The damed left feed lip snapped of and it proceeded to unload its 30 rounds in a most undignified manner.

In front of a friend? Embarassing.
In an emergency? Potentially life-threatening.

I'm done with Pro-Mags.
