selling a shotgun barrel on gunbroker/gunsamerica?

There is no FFL involvement required to ship anything other than a frame/receiver, which the Feds consider the same as a gun. The Post Office triangular tubes work great, and so do the round tubes they sell at Staples and Office Depot. I have some old closed cell foam I put on both ends and then pack it with crumpled newspaper.

Use the USPS supplied boxes. They are triangular shaped, very sturdy, and free from your local Post Office. They come in 2 lengths, 25" and 38". The 25" ones are great for shipping barrels.

PS I do recommend taping your barrel to a 1"X2" board and slipping it into the shipping box. It makes it very difficult for the shipper to bend your barrel without leaving significant evidence of mis-handling.

save yourself a little money, look up your local surveyor or land development firm and ask for the rolls plotter paper comes on. You will get a 3 foot long cardboard tube usually with plugs and anywhere from 2 to 4 inches in diameter. Not to mention they are nigh indestructible (i have used them to roll a safe).
