Sears............................I think I have heard of them , they were only the largest retailer in the counrty. We bought all our shells there. Time does not stand still my friend unfortunetly.

We could get them at Sears, Montgomery Wards, Otasco and Western Auto - no Walmart no KMart.

I never bought from Montgomery Wards.

I think I have a box of 20ga that looks like that. I remember when the plastic shells came out - duck hunters loved them -dove hunters did not care a bit.

sears tended to have best price and shot size selection.
Back in those days Sears had a Sporting goods section second to none. Montgomery Wards wasn't far behind. Ahhh...the good old days. Now most all of my Shotgun ammo is dropped off at the doorstep by Fedex or UPS.

When I was a kid I bought ammo at the dime store. Kresge's, Woolworth's, heck, didn't everybody have a sporting goods department before Woolworth became Woolco and Kresge opened the first K-Mart in '62 and all the other things they tried to keep their old chains up and running.

A pic of a Woolco in 1966 (I was 16 by then). Note the GUNS TACKLE sign.
