Firearms in National Parks - Poll

I voted. And I will have an open carry party in Zion National Park soon.

I guess we know what side the author is on. I know people that have ridden horses into the backcountry of National Parks and had an accident and had to put a horse down with an axe or knife. That is a really bad way to put down a horse. Now at least they can carry the appropriate tools to defend themselves and thier animals.

The way they wrote the article is pretty biased and may play a role in how people voted.

I still cannot believe that some folks (in this case, the author of the article) still try to cast the shadow that law abiding gun owners/CCW's are a threat to families or innocent people in parks. What is so "chilling" about knowing the guy next to you may be carrying a firearm?

I will never understand how some people think making it illegal to possess a firearm in a particular area keeps criminals from doing so. That's why they're criminals in the first place.

That is one of the most biased articles I have ever seen.

When they screen every visitor to the national parks by metal detector, I'll consider not carrying.

The law allows concealed carry, so no one will know or see any difference. The article does not seem to relay that information. Everyone will be the safer for it.

I think in several threads here we hashed out the law, and both concealed and open carry would be allowable if permitted by state law.
