King of Prussia Pennsylvania: Valley Forge Gun Show - Valley Forge Convention Center - Dec 20-21 2003 610-975-0877

I'm not sure what my work schedule is yet.

I need some reloading dies and looking for .303 ammo.

These shows tend to be the best in the area. I have never been to the Harrisburg shows, but they are apparently the only shows that are better.

I see lots of people from NJ come to these shows.

P95Carry- it's worth the trip!

I'm looking for a taurus tracker .357 or a good deal on a Arsenal SAM-7

I'm likely to get neither because i still need to finish my HK .40 tactical project.

I’ll be the guy in the red flannel shirt…I’ll have a bolt-action Mossberg 12 ga. for sale on my shoulder. It’ll be missing the magazine, but I’ll still expect to sell it for $300.

Oh wait - there will be a lot of guys like that…:rolleyes:

On a serious note, I’ll be there with my wife. She actually picked up a copy of “Gunproof Your Kids†by Mas Ayoob at the last VF show.

I was so proud…:D

Need to pull out my Nappen book, but I don't think we can buy any long guns and I'm certain we can't buy handguns . . . . . so, what do they come for that they can't get online?

Need to go for a permit myself over the Holidays. Have a hankering for an HK USP 45 in Stainless . . . .

Let me guess, you also drive a Chevy 2500 with a lift kit, brush guard and a confederate flag bumper sticker? I always know i'm in the right parking lot when i see that.

No Confederate flag sticker...but my red flannel shirt is my gun show shirt.:D

Reminds me of an older guy that I would see at the shows when I was growing up (and sitting behind the tables). Every single show, he would show up in his blaze-orange Jones cap. He had a big white beard, and was only interested in WWII Japanese stuff. The hat, beard and interest was his trademark!

SodaPop ..... I really would like to come along ... wife even said today when I mentioned it .. why not go!! She has to work Sunday (to gain an extra day over Xmas) .. and so that'd be my choice.

Thing is ... almost entirely weather dependent so have to see. Anyways . which day will you guys all be goin? I'd really like to meet up if it worked out but of course you may be doin Saturday?

I'll have to watch forecast a bit longer ... we have more crud comin along soon but not sure what and when. Guess I'll make a decision end of week.

hey, let's set a time to meet. I say noon on saturday. What's everyone think? Anyway, i'll be wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and be taking a close look at every SAM-7 i see.

Well - if it is Saturday - and I can make it, but only Sunday .. then looks like I won't see any of you guys!:(

Oh well .... still the weather to know about ... and it is quite a long haul. But - I'd sure feel more like makin the journey tho if I knew I'd be able to meet some of y'all.

what do they come for that they can't get online?

Extremely better deals on ammo.

I've seen 5.56 and 7.62Nato go for $130 per 1000rds at these shows. Not always, but sometimes. Usually, South African, and Portugese ammo.

There's no reason some of us can't meet on Saturday and others on Sunday.

I'm not sure of my work schedule but I most likely will be going on Sunday.

Clubsoda on Saturday and SodaPop on Sunday. :D

I've met several TFL members at these shows before and its where I usually do some recruiting for the PA Gatherings.

I'll let yas know when I'm going.

Highland Ranger & other NJ inmates:

If you are qualified to buy longarms in NJ, you CAN buy longarms at the show!

Long story short: The FFL must obey PA and NJ laws, which means you have to fill out all the Federal & NJ paperwork, show your FID, etc, and certain longarms on the prohibited list will not be available to you.

The neato bit: NJ law states that the dealer must keep the NJ papers on file, which they obediently do.

Sadly, NJ doesn't have any jurisdiction to go to PA and audit said papers. Boo-hoo.

Valley Forge gun show is right across from Valley Forge Historic Park. It's not YORK.

Its straight down the PA turnpike get off at the 76 exit and then get off at the first exit and go about 1 mile and you're there.

Easy.

get off at the 76 exit and then get off at the first exit
:confused: Well .. OK Turnpike is I 76 .... but, now looking at a map ... seems like we are talking outskirts of Phily!! Oh my *** quite some haul .... looks like exit #24 .... and head North a small ways yeah?

If exit#24 correct then ... what is that next exit you refer to?? Is it signed?? .. remember, I am totally strange to this area!!!

All will depend on weather .. but may be Ok ... need a more up to date 4cast yet tho. Plus .. would hope to see one of the ''Sodas'' at least if i do the Sunday - plus hopefully some other THR's too.:)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BTW - what's the ruling there re carry??
The Turnpike is 276 and the I-76 I was referring to is different.
Once you get off of 276 at the Valley Forge Exit you'll be on 76, make a Right at the first exit after the toll booth(which is North Gulph Road). Stay on that road for about a mile and you'll see the Sheraton Hotel, and the Valley Forge Convention Center next to it. They are the tallest buildings in the area and easy to spot.
If I go Sunday, I'll be there with a couple THR members.
You can't carry in the building.
Hmmm .... now I really am confused!!! Sorry if being thick here but lookin at map ... I 76 (which AFAIK !!!) is Penna Turnpike from West of me all way to Phily - Interstate 76/PA Turnpike!!!
Now, I see where I 76 (on which I would approach from ''out West!!!'') ....... splits to let 276 go on West, near ''King of Prussia'' according to map ... but that appears to be after I'd leave Turnpike anyways!.
I have to relate any directions to what my map/maps show .. so far - what I see is ..... before I'd even see 276, I would leave I 76 (westbound -- THE PA TURNPIKE!!) ... and hang a left to Valley Forge.
Oh well ... if i can make it I'll find it I guess!:p
I see where you're getting confused. I see on the map where 76 becomes 276.
Look up the address I posted and it'll get you to the doorstep.
I will try to make the show, and remember to wear my tan Molon Labe hat. I'll probably be the only 5'6" guy with a beard and glasses wearing such a hat.
Thx Soda . that helps!! I'll mapQuest on that which'll help a lot.
Now - just weather and knowing who'll be the ''Sunday bunch''. After which .. deciding what absurd item of dress to don in order to not only look an idiot ... but be recognizable to any other THR's!:D
I'm there!
I'm going on sunday morning by 10am. Will be wearing british camo fatigues and SAS sweatshirt. The other presents are bought. It's my turn now :D
