Sig 226, H&K P30 or Glock 19

I have shot the HK and never cottoned to that line of pistol. I own the P226. I also own a Glock 19 and 22 and recently purchased a P228 for CCW. Between the Sig and Glock, I shoot FAR better with my P226. I also prefer the Sig DA trigger over the Glock "safe action" trigger. I would choose the Sig in a heartbeat.

All fine guns. I have an older Sig P226 and a HK P30L both SA/DA the P226 has a slightly better trigger pull than the HK. But ergonomics of the HK P30L are far better for me. I would suggest you handle all three, if you have not done so before making your decision.

Are you gonna get one of these 3 or was this post just a kinda what would you pick thing? If youre looking to get one did this help in your decision, what are you leaning towards. This is all good info/replies but you should really go handle some/shoot some and see which fits you best. I know you probably heard it a hundred times but its the truth. No sense buying something because so and so said they like it

Runningman beat me to it in less words

Shoot each if you can. If you can't pick the one that points, and feels the best in your hand. See if you can find a shop to let you pull the trigger on each. I don't care if any of them can go a million rounds before dying, has the cheapest mags, most accesories, etc.None of that doesn't make a hoot if you can't shoot it worth a crap, or doesn't fit your hand or shooting style. Buy the one that best suits you. For me it was easily the HK P30.

If just for range use I would take the P30 in the L config. The single action trigger is not half bad on the two I have shot. Would make a great range gun.

the P30 test doesn't mean much, sig and glock have pistols with even higher round counts and nothing sheared off their frames. i've owned the 226 and P30 and i have owned a 19 for a very long time. go with the 19,no contest....single type of trigger pull, reasonbly priced, inexpensive parts and mags readily available, holsters everywhere.....it sells itself. hk and sig are great guns no doubt, but buy them used because they are overpriced. i'd be inclined to pay more for a sig over an hk because of its all metal construction....a polymer handgun just isn't worth 700-1000 bucks

P226.

I regret getting rid of min years ago. Now I'm active and spending A LOT more time on the range and really wish I had my 226.

Must replace soon....... Man, the prices changed a little!

I would recommend looking at the Steyr M-A1 as well.

It is being brought back to the states (completely Austrian made, unlike the Glock) and is a great shooter, and reliable.

It's not just the round count on the pistols, but the timeframe that those rounds were put thru the guns. By the time I make a Glock 19 fit me, and add the parts to make it work for me, I might as well have bought an HK or Sig that will fit and work out of the box.I just don't see much of a difference in price. I paid $750 for my P30 brand new. For me it is ready out of the box. Alot of people say I paid to much for it. Alot of those same people oohhh and aahhh over this being done to a Glock and never mention the price. Amazing!

Glock 19 $500
ext. mag release- $20
ext slide lock- $20
better sites- $100
steel guide rod- $30
butt plug-$10
Glock 17 trigger assy- $15
Grip reduction and stippling- $150
Total=$845

Can't speak to the HK since I've never shot one, but I had a Glock 19 in the past and just picked up a 226 DA/SA 9mm off the classifieds here.

For me, the Sig feels better to shoot; I was more accurate with the Glock (traded it for a G26). Go figure. *shrugs shoulders*
