I'm looking to get a do it all O/U. Something I can take on the trap or skeet range as well as take out for dove or geese, though that may be more for the autoloader. Don't want dirt cheap, but certainly don't need custom top tier, something middle ground. I was thinking maybe Browning but I'm not sure what a good bang for the buck while still being built to last 100k rounds without issue. It won't see that much use from me, but I would like something built to work for a while. I've had a couple of the absolute bottom dollar O/Us and I don't want that again. Budget would be about $1k though that is a rough ballpark. Could be more if it got significantly better quality for the increased money. Not worried about looks much on this one so I wouldn't spend extra on finish or a pretty rifle. It's been a good 5 years since I've looked at shotguns so I'm not really sure if anything new in this market has popped up. Thoughts?

For your price range the CZ line is worth looking at. I have a CZ (Huglu) and really like it. As pretty as a Beretta or Browning? no. But a good field gun. If you are really more interested in clays maybe look to spend a little more for the above. Keep in mind with the nontoxic shot regs a good skeet or dove gun may not be the best Goose gun! A well fitting 12ga will take all upland game and be decent for sporting clays. If you really get serious about skeet or trap you can keep your CZ for the field and upgrade to a more specific gun to fit your skills.

For bottom dollar of quality, Browning and Beretta get the nod - both fit different, so pick the one that works best for you - either one will go the mileage of 100,000 - my Browning just did that recently

I really like SKB shotguns and they can be had for reasonable prices. I have a couple now and have had others. Right now my favorite O/U, though, is a Winchester 101 I picked up used (but excellent) for $900. 3" chambers, choke tubes, very versatile and well-made. Personally I have never favored Brownings and I usually find that Berettas don't fit me well.

b2,
Take a look at the FN-built Winchester 101s. I've got a Platinum Sporting I've used for all the clay games a little over 2 years now and really like it. As a long time Citori fan, after shooting the Winchester, I'd never buy a 12 gauge Citori again.

They are serviced by Browning, and IMO represent a "best buy" in the 12 gauge O/U market today.

I bought a Yildiz 12 gauge O/U from Academy. It has beautiful turkish walnut and checkering, very light weight and very manageable recoil. This is really a nice undervalued shotgun that can be had for under $600. I bought mine a few years ago and have yet to have any hiccups with it. I would highly recommend this one. This shotguns are made in Turkey.
