This weekend at the GC a guy's Ruger went nuts with the last 3 rounds in it. I've heard of it, but never saw it. Scary, I told him full autos were against the rules at the club...... Good thing we have good bulkheads along the way. His eyes were the size of golf balls!

Was this the reason for Ruger's recall on the SR9?

OY VEY! (It's okay for me to say that, y'all. I'm part Jewish. And it's currently one of my favorite expressions. And I may or may not have just been looking for a reason to say it.) :neener::neener:

If the sear is broken does it cause the hammer to fall without trigger pull until the gun is empty?

I thought the SR9 had a trigger safety so that the gun could not go off unless the trigger was pulled. Might be interesting to put a full mag in and then see what happens when you chamber a round. Just be ready for the possible results. :what: Maybe the firing pin is stuck or broke and is stuck sticking out of the firing pin hole.

Not yet...

If that happened on a hammer gun, the hammer would just follow the slide and would not have enough momentum to set the primer off.

If the sear broke on a striker gun, the striker wouldn't even get cocked for the 2nd shot.

It was slam firing or the shooter freaked and got the trigger in bump fire mode. I tune all of my auto pistols to go bump fire when I use my finger for that action....
