I had an Ak bayonet I picked up at a gun show for 10.00 a while back. I didn't notice at the time, but the original Bakelite grip was craked and weak at the pommel. I was cleaning up my gun area and was considering throwing it out, but decided to take it to the shop and try to make some wood grips to salvage it. I intentionally left them a little rough and antiqued them for an authentic eatern block military look.

How'd I do? (It only took a little over an hour including the finish.)

The angle degree for the rear is 40 degrees. Then the only other reliefe cuts are at the back. Therwise the pieces are flat and only need eased on the outside for your hand / whatever style you want.
