I think I may be able to pick one up for around $400 used, in great shape. I know the guy very well, takes exceptional care of his guns, very knowledgeable etc. and he was saying he wanted to sell it for around $400-$500.
The one thing he doesn't like about it, is he can't seem to hit the broad side of a barn with it. He used to compete professionally and I've gone shooting with him countless times, so it's not like he's a bad shot or anything, he just says he can't seem to do very well with it. I've yet to shoot it myself, which, next time we go shooting I will ask him to bring it along so I can try it out myself.
My question is, does anyone else have a similar experience or is it just the opposite?

I have a Beretta 92FS Inox and it's very accurate, surpassed only slightly by my 1911 .45. Thats a good price if its in good condition. A new one in my area goes for around $750. Shoot it before you buy it. Sometimes people just have trouble shooting a certain gun accurately for various reasons.

My Inox 92FS is very accurate also, I seem to shoot it better then any handgun I have ever shot but Iaabhound is right. My nephew had a beretta and he sold it. said he couldn't hit anything with it. I don't understand that except some people can't shoot some type of weapons for some reason. I would shoot it before I offer to buy it if you can't shoot it well there may be something wrong with the weapon. If you can and you like it jump on it that is a good price.

be safe

gonna 3rd that, my wife was shooting eggs at 25-30 feet with it, first time firing a hand gun. it hits everything i point it at, a beautiful weapon as well.

I did have ONE Beretta Vertec almost 10 year ago - that shot like a shotgun.

So it is possible it could be the gun - but maybe not. Try it and see what ya think before ya buy it.

I have 6 Beretta 92 variants. I love the guns!

I also have a Beretta 92 FS Inox, it shoots exactly where you aim it!

When my friends shoot it they always shoot better with it than with their own pistols.

I have two beretta 92fs. Both are very accurate. That is a great price BTW.

Personally, I would question why he can't shoot it accurately.

He's a documented good shooter, right?

...or does he simply have such high standards that he can't cope with a factory trigger on a modern combat gun?

I'd ask for a test fire, after which you'll decide.

One of the reasons I sold my Ruger P90 was that it flunk the brass such that it hit me right in the forehead. I don't feel I should have to wear a hat not to get beat up by my gun. I think the reason (or part of it) that it did this was that when I was a n00b, I manually inserted a round in the chamber, let the slide slam shot on it, (thereby beating up the corner of the extractor) then inserted a full mag.

I sold it to a guy at a very reasonable price, $300 I think, and made him aware of the problem. He was not bothered by it at all.

Is it possible the gun has a problem that affects accuracy, and your friend is not telling you about the root case, but just the presentation of the problem?

I just bought a brand new Inox this week. Took it out for the first time yesterday. I was hitting bottle caps and golf balls at 10 yards and this is my first semi-auto handgun. Very accurate.

Shoot it and see what you think. If you can get it for 4-500, that's a hell of a deal.

Thanks for all the input guys, will definitely talk to him more and shoot it, see how I feel about it myself, hopefully on Sunday.

And Smaug, I sincerely believe that he would not do that. He's my girlfriend's step dad, I know him very well, and he's the honest type :)

Beretta 92FS Inox

ObsidianOne, I realize this thread has a little age on it but wanted to hear if You had purchased / enjoyed the Beretta yet? This is My first post beyond that rambling introductory but just put a new 92FS Inox on layaway so wanted to hear from others. The new one is the long awaited replacement for the 92F I sold back in 1988 :banghead: which was a far better gun than I will ever be a shooter and it was My first handgun. (Guess that explained the beginners luck:scrutiny:)

I have a black/blued 92FS and a friend has an Inox and they shoot almost exactly the same. My gun has probably 5X the number of rounds through it, so it's got a trigger that's slightly smoother. Both are 100% reliable, unless the ammo is bad. Both have wraparound rubber grips on them.

Older Inox 92s with parts like the trigger, safety lever and guide rod that are also stainless are more desirable than the newer ones with the black parts.

He decided he wanted to keep it after all and did not sell it.
I wasn't looking specifically for a 92F, just was going to pick it up if it was the right price.
I have, however, continued asking others about experience with them and I've heard nothing but good things.

Pleased with my Italian Beretta 92FS Inox
