I was given this old Redfield "Widefield" or "TV" scope. I can't figure out why it says "US Property" because as far as my research indicates they were never used in active duty and have that ranging reticle that is really useful only for deer (18" range finding reticle) but although it is a decent scope the eye relief is such that I have to mount it this far forward to get any view at all.
It looks dopey, but I'm wondering if there is any reason why I can't mount it this far forward. It does interfere slightly with the iron sights in that I have to really reach in to change from the large to small sight. I think I have the mount on the carry handle installed right so I don't see that I really have an option.
Thoughts?
