What was the weather like in the Midwest or on the East Coast?

Because it was 75 in AZ. again. While you guys were out shoveling snow, (or what ever the hell you do in the arctic) we were out shooting sporting clays.

I thought I’d continue my AZ. shooting vacation with a round of sporting clays at The Picacho Sporting Club http://www.picachosportingclub.com/index.html . They’re located about 45 minutes north of Tucson.

I hadn’t been there in few months, so I was anxious to see if they had made any changes.

They’ve still got 10 fully automatic stations, with a good variety of targets. It’s mostly a skeet / IC course, but still fun.

I hooked up with some "locals" and we shot the course. The targets were challenging but fair. The guys I shot with were really friendly. Good guys, good targets, good weather, what more can you ask for?

If you’re thinking of taking a vacation this winter, AZ. or So. Cal. has some great shooting.

Here’s a link to some pictures I shot there last summer.

And here’s one from yesterday.

It sure was a beautiful day. Sweated my butt off walking the washes hunting Quail. Only downed 3 Gamble Quail yesterday morning. Was worth it though.

Who would of thought that I would be hunting in early January in a tee shirt. A Molon Labe tee shirt no less!!

Soon as hunting season is over I'm gonna hook up with you and shoot some clays

Ok, rub it in. Morning temp here was 9.

FYI, I committed college the first time in Tucson. Spent many a happy hour in the Catalinas and Rincons. Took a Javelina down towards the border.

One more pic like those and I'm gonna...

Great, like Dave says, rub it in guys. Well we had sunshine and warmed up to 50 this weekend...low last night was 34.

Well I'm in AR, no telling how much of our mail ends up in AZ. You guys ain't helping me, been giving thoughts to leaving here. You have quail. You have the UofA and the school at Phoenix. On-line courses ... quail...type, shoot, type, shoot...laptops and a shotgun, I could do that.:p

What other critters ? I wonder if a shotgun barrel would make a good Wi-Fi... Robert Flinkinger never thought of that one...pringles can, heck let me test a SG bbl...all in the name of research - of course. :p

What other critters
Dove are everywhere. Javalina, Deer, Elk, Mountain lion, 3 types of Quail, Coyote and illegals in the desert.;)

Only thing that sucks here is the drawing for hunting areas for big game.

Plenty of open areas to shoot also.

Lennyjoe...I was afraid you or someone would say something like that. :)

I need to plan a serious Road Trip Westward it seems. Those pics I see from you Western members...well, yep I need a serious road trip.

Thanks.

Come on down anytime. I will be more than happy to show ya the ropes around here.

Alot of THR'ers up in Phoenix too. Might have to throw a shoot together.
