Thinking of sending a Garand to Eric for a work over.

Anyone have experience with him? Were you pleased with the end result? Would you do it again?

Rifle needs a new barrel so I am looking at the 2K plus new barrel fee. Just trying to figure out if it is worth the price or if I should go with a less costly alternative.

Thanks.

I have not heard of these guys, but doen't mean much. if double lugging is not important to you (woould to me and you pay the price) I can send you information on a plummer i used if you want. Charged about 1/2 the $.

Thanks P-32,

I wasn't planning to go with double lug upgrade but please send the contact info my way :)

Thank you!

I have a Garand that was done by these folks.

Me too and I will vouch for Tony Giacobbe. He did excellent work with a good turn around time. He had good prices as well.

I traded a Springfield "parade" barreled action in, which basically someone spot welded the barrel to the receiver in for a good Springfield action that he put a new criterion barrel on and reparked all the parts. It also came back with a Schuster adjustable gas plug. The rifle looks and shoots great.

Thanks for the info and pictures. I will do some further research on the smiths you listed. Thank you!
