Highest price you paid for your gun

I know I got jacked when it came out to be $570 with the tax and 2 speed strips for a S&W 438, but it was brand new, not anywhere else in the area, and I had a girl with me.

Probably the last gun I'll buy new.

My wife paid a little over $1100 for my Colt XSE Commander, which is a bit more than the going rate online. But this was at a gun shop, and this was my wedding gift and has been my favorite pistol so money doesn't matter.

I paid about $350 for a S&W Airweight 642-2 snubby. Then I added a Crimson Trace grip for $260, then traded the whole thing for a S&W 60-4 revolver. $610. The snubby was a nice neat package that beat up my hands too badly. The bigger one is more docile.

$2,500 for this GSP in an International setup with the .22 lr, .22 short and .32 S&W Long conversions. I've had it for years, then my dad shot with it, now it just sits in the safe. Kicked around selling it a couple of times, but never got a serious bite.

$150 for a pre-lock 442... from my friend who is a sheriff's deputy, and was upgrading to an XD subcompact for a back up...
he sold it to me for what he paid, in 1997... box and all, round count under 250...

$1600 for a pedersoli sharps quigley rifle in 45-70 with a soule front sight and soule long range tang sight. entire package in lnib condition.

Around $400 for a blackhawk 357

Oh and Yes worth every penny on the sharps and would do it again in a heart beat. Only regret on the blackhawk is that it wasn't a 45

I traded a gun toward an LCP when the US gun-buying was at its peak (between around 2008 - 2009).

The gun I traded in - I had at least $750 into. The new LCP (with a free box of bullets) plus tax was nearly $500. I was told that that had to be the price as it cost the gun store owner a lot to get that gun, basically, I could take it or leave it -- it also happened to be the last new gun in the entire store!

I traded even and lost my shirt -- the only saving grace of all this is that I use the LCP daily whereas the gun I traded in might have been shot once or twice a year by me (I got it used).

Back in the late 80's or so, I bought a 99% used HK93 with OEM stock and also paratrooper forend and collapsible rear stock. Three 20 round magazines. I think I paid $700 for that gun, which was just like new. I had it for a while, but then I think I traded it toward something else, again, losing my shirt. Every time I have traded or sold any guns, I have always taken a beating. A few years ago, I decided, I don't have a large collection, I do have various guns that kind of cover anything I would ever need to use them for, so I am no longer selling, trading or getting rid of any guns, and I don't plan to buy any more guns as I am very satisfied with what I have.

I know it is all too easy to look at something long enough that I feel like I have to have it, even though it is something I may hardly ever use! I hope, as I get older, that I feel that way a lot less than I did when I was young and dumb.

$3000 for a Custom Shop Springfield Full Rail Operator 1911 in 9mm. Waited 11 months for it. I still have it.

I also paid $2200 for an Ed Brown in 2009, but sold it earlier this year. I still have the custom springer, though

I paid $1150 plus tax for a brand new Kimber SIS Custom about 6 weeks ago, still have it and will have it for a long time to come. This is by far the most I've spent on a gun as most of my other ones hover around the $4-600 range.

I traded a Ruger #1 in .270 straight up for my Ruger P90.

The P90 has been a fantastic pistol, and I still have it and shoot it often and will likely never sell it, but monetarily it wasn't worth that #1.

young and dumb.

You ain't just whistling dixie, friend. At 19, I just couldn't see the use for a single shot rifle, especially when the P90 was dangling in front of me.

If I remember correctly I paid $800 for the first Ruger redlable 20ga o/u with fixed chokes (skeet/skeet) and a 3 digit serial # that came into Mobile alabama , Yes I still have it.

I've already posted, but I do want to bring up the 1972 Ruger BH 3 screw I paid $500 for. I know.....way too much. I thought so at the time as well. But I've got so much enjoyment from shooting it, I don't feel like I got such a bad deal after all. And hopefully I'll be around to put a few hundred more rounds through it.

$1000.00 for a brushed stainless DE in .44.

My gold cup would have edged it out if I payed for it.

$
Pistol....about 20 years ago I bought a Colt Gold Cup. I had additional work done on it for Bullseye shooting. The total was about $1100. Still have the gun. It was absolutly worth the $.
Rifles - I bought a double rifle, an O/U, chambered in .30-06. By the time I got a scope mount on it and a good scope, it was about four grand.
It is the last rifle that I would sell.

I paid 1400.00 for my sig x5 competition, and 900.00 for my HK P30s V3 I bought it brand new. The Sig is a tackdriver and the HK is pretty much my everyday carry. I would much rather save money a little longer and buy a fine pistol, something I feel proud to own than settle for some cheap plastic pop gun.

Mine is gonna be a Ruger .41 mag Blackhawk. My Dad owned this piece, and the recoil was tough. For Christmas of 1975 me and my 2 younger brothers pitched in and had it sent off to Magnaport. I inherited this on his passing. Here's where it's gonna get expensive. I have pearl grips on order (6 month wait), and am on a waiting list (up to a year) for a full engraving ,Dad was an accomplished leather tooler. By the time I'm done, I will have about $1100 in it. Kinda my tribute to him about the guns we grew up shooting and he loved. Will it ever be worth that much to somebody else? Nope. But it will be worth every bit that much to me. An $1100 Ruger Blackhawk, that was your Dad's favorite, priceless.
