Fusion lightweight CCO

This one's been dead-nuts reliable, and absurdly accurate, but I'm thinking about having Bob build me a 5" big brother because I do like carrying the big ones often enough. :)

I used to have a Smith and Wesson Compact ES, which was also trouble-free. CCOs have been good to me.

I love CCO sized 1911's but so far only have one, also a Fusion but in 9mm. Great gun, very well put together, fast and accurate.

Posing for gun porn-

I just want to say I love that there are no gaudy roll marks on these gorgeous pistols. More builders and companies should take note!

Stop ... Posting ...

I want one so bad. For my hands the normal frame is just too large, so this size is pretty much ideal.

Here is mine but it currently does not look like this anymore. It is in the process of getting some custom work done on it. New Hammer, sear, trigger, thumb safety etc... and a refinish in Wilson Combats Armor Tuff finish in all black.

This is my "almost-a-CCO." Assembled from RIA parts by Arnel in the Advanced Tactical shop.

It will be getting better sights soon. I don't get along with the GI-type sights as well as I'd hoped :( I also plan to add an extended slide stop, which I've done to all my 1911s.

That's correct. 4" cone barrel instead of a 4.25" barrel and bushing. It's as close as Arnel and I could come to what I wanted.

Someday perhaps I'll pick up a true CCO but for the price this couldn't possibly be beat - and it's a good shooter too!

I sent this gun to Wild West Guns in Feb. They installed a these new parts dehorned and refinished the gun:

C&S tactical sear, hammer and disconnector.
C&S extractor
Ed Brown NM Trigger
ED Brown Ext Safety
Ed Brown Mainspring with 25 LPI Checkering
Trigger Job
Complete Dehorn
Refinish in Wilson Tuff Armor Black

Dan Wesson CCO. At least one of if not the favorite of all my handguns.

The wood grips look nice but in cold weather these work better.

Here's a Smith and Wesson Compact ES that I used to own. I sold it to fund the Fusion. As great as the Fusion is, it would be fair to say that it's not leaps and bounds ahead of the S&W because the S&W was that good.

It's the principle of diminishing returns, doubling the cost of a gun doesn't double the quality, and the farther up the price ladder you go the smaller the per dollar improvements get.

I have a couple Dan Wesson 1911s and even though the prices have come up some in the last couple years I stil think they are a good bargain. I have DW .357 & .44mag revolvers too, also very nice guns. My DW .44 is stunningly accurate, going away the most accurate handgun I have ever shot.

I am hearing rumblings of a CCO in 9mm from DW. Really not in the budget right now, but if it happens.......just might have to find a way :D

Diminishing returns is hard to define but I agree that doubling the cost does not equal double the gun. A lot has to do with the criteria which IMHO is subjective.

The current Dan Wesson has nothing to do with the older company which made your nice revolvers. Bob Serva brought back the name Dan Wesson and then sold it to CZ.

I did here they were bring back revolvers. :D

DW is currently making a .357 revolver, model 715. According to their web site, parts for the 715 are interchangeable with the old model 15. I don't know if they plan to produce any large frame revolvers or not, I wish they would.

Dan Wesson has undergone multiple changes in management, but the folks in charge at the moment seem to be doing their best to uphold the quality and reputation of their past products. Their 1911 line has improved in quality since its introduction.

Dan Wesson, the old and the new.

What exactly qualifies a pistol as a CCO? I was always under the impression CCO meant concealed carry only - as in a pistol that serves you as a concealed carry weapon and nothing else.

Clearly I was wrong.

Also, those pure white triggers are gorgeous.

IIRC, Colt called it the Concealed Carry Officer's Model.

In short, its a commander slide on an officers frame.

is it selfish to bump this in hopes of getting more pictures of these perfectly-sized little pistols?

perfect packin' proportion = PPP?
