Well it is official. I had to sell my 444. It was a Winchester M94 AE. I loved that gun. It packed a big thump. I sold it to a friend who has been wanting one ever since I got it. I know he will take good care of it.

I sold it to pay for a new puppy we are getting this fall. So either when I finally get a job or sell the pup as a one year old I will replace it with a Marlin in 444. Then I will know which is better, Marlin or Winchester.
In the mean time I think I will go elk hunting to console my self on my temporary loss.

It was a tough choice. I sold the gun, dies brass, and left over ammo for 650 which is the cost of the pup. In a year I will be able to sell the pup for about 2,000-2,500. So I should be able to replace the gun, dies and brass when the dog sells. Or if I get hired at a school in a last minute hiring I will replace it with one of my first few pay checks.

A gun for a puppy?

Guns don't poop in the house
They don't throw up on your new carpet
They don't chew on your coffee table
They don't need walked, or trips to the vet
Plus, feeding a gun is WAY more enjoyable than feeding a dog!

J/K, wouldn't give up my dog for anything. Good luck to you and your new pup. Hope you restore your missing firearm in the future.

I would happily sell a $650 gun to pay for anything my old pug needed to stay alive and happy... even though he's just a little old geezer that sheds like crazy, can barely walk, and isn't worth a darn as a guard dog.;)

You sold an old friend to get a new friend. You will probably enjoy this pup. & soon you may or may not realize that you made a good decision.

to me a gun is a cold object that can't really be a good friend. More like a hammer its a tool.

Here in the sticks, I adopt wander-up dogs.

No guns have wandered up yet, so there's really no conflict between the two.

1. Hide your sneakers.
2. Go to the animal shelter in Hailey.
3. Get free dog.
4. Get rifle back from your buddy.
5. Bag that Elk.
6. Clean the carpet and commence training.
