I like it, but i LIKE color. Your gun isnt ninja anymore tho, Zombies will C U.....

Pretty nice looking. Can I get some details on how you did that and what you used?

Is that the lower from an Oracle. Looks very similar to my Oracle, which I love has been dead on reliable since I got it.

Thanks guys i like color too i recently built a 1911 and put a mirage -flage digital camo job on it and i love that gun.
Yea i can share the steps i took pretty darn simple as well.
Go to walmart and pick up your desired color elmers paint marker from the craft section (3.97 a peice).
1-Clean the area your going to apply paint to with a degreaser.
2-apply desired color over area and dont be shy with you want to try and cover in one application.
3-with an old t-shirt spray a good amount of wd-40 in a 3x3 area and rub off the excess paint from the flat portion of the lower or part that you have leaving only the paint in the recessed area.
lower is a dpms stripped i recently purchased from a gun shop for 85$.

Wow that green is off the chart though Bobson.
The paint brushes arent even needed either trust me i was goin to do the same thing but saw a video on you tube where a guy used whiteout and it looked good as well.

An alternative to the markers is enamel model paint. Thin a small amount somewhat and apply with a toothpick or fine point brush. Just touch the rollmark and the paint should wick in by capilliary action. Let it dry five minutes or so, then wipe/rub as described above.

Just finished doing mine using Liquid paper. Really like the appearance and its very easy to work with

How durable are these methods to gun oils.. no problems or do you have to constantly "re-touch".. I like the look. :)

I just used a hairdryer and some crayons on a couple of my guns. Really cheap and for the most part it turned out great. Just heat up the area with the hairdryer and then rub the over with the crayon. Should be hot enough to melt the crayon when you put in on. I let the area cool for maybe 15 minutes and then used an old itunes gift card and newspaper to remove excess.

I have cleaned my gun at least 3 times since doing this using CLP and it has not detracted from the appearance at all.

Looks good Digdeep74, I like the way the color looks on an AR.

On my lower, (top link in Bobson's post #6) I used paint pens purchased from a hobby shop. The capillary action definitely does pull the paint into the recessed areas.

I have to say, though, that at first I tried using WD-40 to wipe off the excess, but it didn't work well. I used plenty of elbow grease but the color, while faint, was still visible. I ended up using some non-acetone fingernail polish remover along with my elbow grease.

I'm colorblind, red on black just doesn't stand out to me.

If I do mine (and now I think I will) the FIRE option will be a bright Orange!

I knew i wasnt the only one doing this interesting how many ways there are to skin a cat.
I thought about orange as well but just went the safe way i guess.

A few of you pm'd me about my mirage flauge 1911 so here it is.

I think it looks great!

Looks pretty slick! I still don't understand those B.A.D. levers though.

I was suspicious as well, but it took about 5 minutes (less time than it takes to install) of working with one to wonder how I ever did without it. Can now perform virtually any function on the weapon system without removing my strong hand from fire control. I could say more, but that's probably best for another thread. :)

The 1911's camo isn't quite my cup of tea but looks miles better than Browning's Hi Power camo.

Here's how it turned out on my DR-200

"Semi" isn't stamped/engraved into the receiver very deep, so that's why it's kinda faint.
