Do you mean MAS-45? Those are French .22s copied off the German trainers, imported factory-refurb-new, and go for about four to five hundred. Those are superb.

Yes I think the OP means MAS & its a 45 not a 42............

They have a very interesting history. The Fremch took all the tooling from the Mauser plant at the end of WW2.

They are built like tanks and are usually good shooters.
