Any Transferable Miniguns in existance?

The one used in the Predator movie was selling a few years ago for $100K. Completely functional with replacement barrels IIRC.

I believe that there are about 7 fully transferable mini-guns, they go for about $75k when they come up. The Stembridge gun, from Predator and the first Matrix movie, went for $125k since it has a history, many extra parts to make it go live and an armorers course for the buyer. There are about 18 dealer samples and they go for under $20k when they come to market.

It was really interesting working at the test firing facility. You could see and hear all the guns firing at one time or another. The 30mm shipboard system would rattle windows for half a mile. I went from seeing the guns in action in the military,(A-10, etc.) to working for the company that made them. Very cool for an admitted gun nut...

I saw one at a class III shoot in northern PA a couple years ago. THe guy said he had about 60K into it and it was one of 6 privately owned and transferrable ones int he country. I tell you what, i wish he could have really opened her up. It was over 100 degrees that day, so the guys with the full auto stuff tried not to fry thier guns and kept the bursts to a minimum. But seeing the mini gun rock and roll is really an awe inspiring site. He tapped the trigger/button and says to us "that was 500 rounds." :D

I believe that both Dillon and Ciener each own one; if you've ever seen "Firestorm In The Desert", it's one of the things they're trying to shoot remote-controlled airplanes out of the sky with :D

I checked this one out a few years ago at a shoot. Man, it ain't something you carry around that's for sure. I think price then was $100K.

minis

The last time I looked on a reliable mg board, the predator was up for 300k(6 mo). There has been one brought to the "bulletfest" in ohio for the last few years. It is owned by a gentleman from this state. Only an hour or so away from me. I have footage of that gun, mounted and fired from a mule. I think it is 5 times fired from 2 years. That hum just about shuts the line down to watch it fly. If anyone is interested in a copy on cd, let me know. I got this copy from Campy. My price, is to pass it on to another shooter, who in turn, passes it on. Surprisingly,I am on the cd. It is a compilation of a lot of good mgs and some tannerite from bulletfest3 and 4. Email me. Remember, first guy has to pass it on. I'm the guy with the mac 10. If any of you want to see one fired., I would show for this years bulletfest. The line is within feet of the shooters line. P95Carry was at last years, just down from the mini.

When you say 'mule', do you mean 'mule' as in the offspring of male donkey and a female horse, or something else? I'd think a pack animal wouldn't provide the most stable or willing mount for a minigun.

no not that

a mule looks something like a 4 wheeler, but the seat is...well it's a military thing to move equipment and is not currently used. Gas operated, low platform. and the mini is mounted on it. If I could cut a pic out of the cd, i'd post it. I doubt it is a standard platform, but it works on the line.

I first saw one of those at an AOA meeting in Washington around 1959. I suggested to the GE rep that they put a hand crank on it and sell it through the home appliance division. He didn't think that would happen.

Someone is selling a crank operated .58 caliber gatling gun. I suppose you can attach a windmill to it.;)

Someone is actually making a half-scale .22lr gatling gun. Its completely legal and isn't even a class III gun because you have to crank it by hand. They cost several thousand anyway of course.

I do know of a couple of brothers that took a couple of AK's, and mounted them upside down, and made a crank that fir thru the triggers. Worked like a gatling gun, every crank made each gun fire once. I think they melted several guns down playing with them:evil:
