After a little research and soul searching, I found I really had to have this sexy little .22 plinker. My wife - and my jaded conscience - bought into the argument that this little baby would pay for itself by the savings in ammo. I found out that she is high-maintenance with cleaning, and picky with ammo; but worth the effort I am much more accurate with my Buckmark, but this Bobcat is so fun to shoot. I was surprised by the trigger; it feels close to my S&W 442 snubbie. The amount of muzzle flip surprised me too. I chose her because I thought she would be fun, cheap to shoot, and maybe give me practice with the compact size of my EDC weapons. I haven't been disappointed at all.

Really?... You are unlucky or I am very lucky. I have never had an issue with my little shotgun shell plinker. In fact I really cant remember the time I had to clean her with any effort. A simple wipe down and that is about it.

As for ammo, I generally don't have any problems. In fact when I stock .22 I get thunderbolt cause its cheapest and both her and the 10/22 just chew that stuff up.

I actually carry mine for SD sometimes when I just can't carry anything else. It feeds CCI Minimags and Stingers ultra reliably.

Yes, clean it after EVERY range session before you carry it.

I carry 21a, too. Load it with Stingers or Velocitors and it's 100% reliable. Aguila SSS feed reliably, too, but they dirty up the gun very quickly.

I really like the Bobcat. Kinda wish it had a slightly different trigger position. When in single action, it seems . . . too slanted rearward [for lack of a better descrption]. I may pick one up at some time in the future.

Who makes the Jetfire and how well do they run?

Oh, never mind. I see that. Yes, I would MUCH rather have a Jetfire in .22lr but do not know where to get one [if they are even out there to find].

Oh, looks like they are only .25acp so I wouldn't be interested in starting up a new caliber. Oh well.

I have the tomcat and found it be a piece of junk. Only runs when heavily lubed and the frame cracked as i came to found out is common.

My father has a bobcat. It also only runs when very wet and only with certain ammo. Luckily his slide hasn't cracked.

My 21A runs 100% with CCI Mini-Mags. Even feeds cheapo Walmart/Federal 550-pack bulk stuff very well also. Mine is a reliable fun gun!
My old 1957 950B Jetfire .25acp is 100% no matter what I put into the magazine. It is one of my all-time favorite pocket guns!
Beretta 950 models were made in .25acp (Jetfire) and .22 Short (Minx), I think the M20 was only in .25acp, and the 21A (Bobcat) in .25acp and 22LR.

Now if I could just locate one of those National 15-round magazines for my 950......

.

Yes, you can carry the 21a cocked and locked, but then firing it requires two separate actions. Carrying it uncocked is safer and requires only a long double action trigger pull.

I love mine. I know these small guns can be ammo picky, but mine has been 100% reliable. Mainly bulk stuff to boot. The only complaint I have is that sometimes the brass lands on top of my head :) I can live with that though. It gives her character

I've had the same experience with mine also, it doesn't seem to matter which ammo I use. This little gun is surprisingly accurate out to 15 yards.

And that's a problem how? There's a little thing called training involved. Swipe the safety off on the draw and it becomes natural and then you don't think about it.

I carry the 21A Bobcat. It took about 500 rounds before it would fire the cheap bulk ammo without a hickup. I load it with velocitators for EDC. One has to remember, it is not a center fire, and may not be the best carry gun. It's a .22! When I do carry this fine pistol, i do with hammer down, safety off, and a long trigger pull. I woldn't think of putting this in my pocket with the hammer back like the 1911 boys do. The safety comes off way to easy. Different gun, different carry method.

Must be really nice to own one of the Bobcat's that run so well.
My brothers is nothing more than a certified jamomatic with any ammo.

I have 2 of these little Beretta 21A's and one is fine with about any type of ammo but the second one is limited to about 2 type of ammo....

Both are still fun little BUG's.
