A friend recently bought a DPMS AR-10. The trigger is terrible and I'm helping him look for a replacement trigger assembly.

I've several AR-15's, but no AR-10's.

Are AR-15 and AR-10 triggers the same? Looking at Midway for example, a search for AR-10 triggers returns results for AR-15 triggers as well as some indicating they fit AR-10 and AR-15's. Just looking at the catalogs it appears that they are the same, at least in some cases.

Thanks in advance.

I got a DPMS LR308 that was possibly the worst trigger I've ever fired. Tried to smooth it out myself and ended up with an unpleasant FA surprise. Tossed those parts and bought a RRA two stage trigger group. Gun fires great now.

The FCG is one of the few AR-15 parts that is a direct fit for the 7.62 AR platform.

There are some 7.62 FCG's with different hammer springs. Some have had light strike issues when swapping out to light hammer springs.

I have a ArmaLite two stage FCG in my Noveske N6. These have a three position spring on the disco that adjust pull weight in .5 lb increments. Five of my AR's use this FCG, I've replaced RRA two stage and standard FCG's with the ArmaLite.

Heard from my friend this morning. He's going to go with a Timminy 3 lb unit.

I offered to let him try one of my RRA two stage units, but he said he'd wait.
