I just purchased a new Walther PPQ last week in 9mm. Absolutely love the gun. Phenomenal buy.

Today after the range i noticed my brass has a mark in it and showed it to the RO. He said something like Walther over bored it? I dont remember exactly what he said but he did say If all my brass looks like that, that it is an issue and I should send it back to Walther.

What is he talking about? Do I have an issue? The testing brass that came with the gun and all the brass after I shoot look like this (actual example)

Thanks for the help-

I have a Walther PPS 9mm, and when I first started doing reloads, mine came out looking the same. Well I did a test with some factory rounds, and sure enough they came out looking the same as my reloads. My cases looked a lot like that with a little ring around the top.

Nothing to worry about. If you take your barrel out, you will see a little spot in there that leaves the little ring. I had use a flashlight, but I you take your barrel out, clean it real good, you will see how this ring is being made.

Like I stated above, I shot my reloads, and I did a test with WWB factory loads and everything looked the same. The best I can figure is I never noticed it before, because one, I was never picking up my brass because I didn't reload, second I was looking at the brass as close as I was because I wasn't worried about over pressure.

Let me know what you find in the barrel. I'm pretty confident you will find what I found. :)

stepped chambers --deleted-- , no point to them

On a side note my Saiga had a stepped chamber. It would form this bulge a the case neck with brass. I thought it was a defect until I did some digging to find out it was to distinguish between civilian and military fired ammo.

Weird.
