So I love small carry pistols. Huge fan of the Sig P238, Ruger LCR, and Glock 26/27's!

I'm a year and a half away from being of the age to get my Concealed permit, so I haven't been able to justify buying that sexy Sig or sleek LCR. (Got the Glock 27 though :D )

Mean time, show off your smaller carry gun!

I just realized it was rude to not post pics of my Glock 27, Can't right now but I promise they're on the way!

I've got one of those .22lr mini revolvers w/ oversized grips.
It's not hard to point shoot with that thing for me, it's as easy as pointing my finger.

my typical carries are a Keltec P3AT and/or PF9. the 380 is with me all of the time and shows it.

I bought a G27 for carry but, to me, is like carrying a hunk of 2x4 around....I don't care for it myself. When I play dress-up, I carry a Kimber UCII.

Bersa Thunder .380 is mine,,,

I carry a Bersa Thunder 380,,,
I've just started to use a Sneaky Pete holster.

Here are my pair of Bersa pistols,,,
One is the Thunder 22 for cheap practice,,,
The other is the Thunder .380 for personal protection.

bersas-lr.jpg

The guns have an aluminum alloy frame,,,
With a steel slide.

Because they're made in South America,,,
A lot of people won't look at them as serious guns,,,
But they are inexpensive and mine have been extremely reliable.

I bought mine 2 years ago before the price madness we are seeing,,,
I paid $265.00 apiece for them from Budsgunshop.com,,,
The .22 runs well on Wal Mart Federal Bulk ammo,,,
The .380 has run everything I've tried.

As far as size goes,,,
It's a near exact copy of the Walther PPK,,,
It's bigger than a Ruger LCP but smaller than many other .380's.

Hope this provides you with some useable information.

Aarond

S&W 60-1, SP101 DAO, S&W 640-1, and SP101. All .357s.

Lady Smith 65, SP101 DAO, S&W 66, GP100, S&W 60, S&W 686, S&W 64, Speed Six, S&W 640, and Security Six!

Got more but these all work very well and I'd carry and trust them completely.

But right now I have my Glock 26 and S&W 340SC .357 for the pair I use.

Deaf, you clearly don't seem to take self defense seriously. Why limit yourself to so few choices? Jeeze.
Well I can always go to my N frames, or Sigs, or the few paltry 1911s and P-35s I have if backed into a corner.

Normally I'm a Glock man. Subcompact, mid, and large frame. But at heart I'm a wheelgun man.

Just bought a Dan Wesson 'Lit'l Dan' .38 at a pawnshop. Stainless, excellent condition, still quite tight. $244 tax included. I have no idea what I'm gonna do with it but I just could not resist.

Guess it will go with my Ruger SP101 in .38 Spl. I got two months ago. $314 is all I paid for it to.

Does it count if I show off a gun that I haven't carried because its been in the shop for repair since I bought it. :banghead:

More often than anything else, my Rohrbaugh R9. (Yes, it was kind of expensive but not as much as people will say. No, it has never in any way malfunctioned and I shoot it frequently)

If you practice weekly, I mean practice not just shoot, then you will find such guns as snubs quite effective. Yes they are expert guns and not some 'ladies pistol' as they are hard to shoot but they have some good qualities, like being there when needed, that compensate.

I have an all aluminum (solid that is) dummy J .38 that fits my carry gear. At home I practice my drawing, pivots, hip shooting, etc.... and then at the range I use my S&W 34 2 inch .22 first, and then go to my 642 practice .38 with reloads. I do this WEEKLY. Practice one handed, left handed, retention, hip shooting, reloading with speed strips, etc... and all from the very appendix holster I carry my 340SC in.

Why so much effort? Cause with the fur flys one comes as they are. If you have a J .38 and the bad guys have 12 gauge shotguns or Glocks or Tec-9s, well that's the way it is, deal with it.

So you have better be good.

Seeing as though I know the likelihood of an armed encounter on the street is astronomically small, especially where I live and spend my time, I am comfortable with small guns. I've always liked tiny functional tools and handguns are no different.

While I carried a .38 snub as an off-duty cop back in the day, when I moved to my present state from California in the 90's I transitioned to what was my BUG, a Beretta 950 .25. That was my primary for many years until I got a Ruger LCP which is now my primary. I rotate it with a 442 .38 snub and a Kahr PM9 when I'm wearing the right pants. I prefer front pocket carry.

I love the Seecamps, NAAs, Rohrbaughs, tiny Sigs, etc. Just don't own any of them.

BTW, it's not the size of the gun, it's how well you can shoot it under stress and place the rounds where they need to be in a defensive situation. A .25 to the cranium is better than a .45 in a lamppost.

Rembrandt: I just did some studying up on the 9mm Boberg XR9S. I thought I'd seen everything! Like a bullpup pistol! Wow! Like they say on THR a lot, learn something every day!

I've had an LCP, it was a nice shooter and such a breeze to pocket carry. I just wanted more pop. A Diamondback DB9 was a disaster jam0matic, but a Kahr CM9 was wonderful. Since I have more .40, I opted then for a CM40, it fits into the pocket and shoots .40, can't think of anything better really. It and my G27 Gen4 are my two smallest. Size wise the CM40 and G27 are about the same height with the 27 being a hair shorter, but it's longer (front to back) and and wider. While the "king" of small has been the LCP, the CM9/CM40 aren't much bigger really and still easily pocketable.

Despite the G27 having a little bit longer barrel, running factory loads through the chronograph reveals something strange. Some loads are almost identical, some are slower, but a good number are faster from the shorter Kahr barrel. Example, Speer 180gr Gold Dot averages around 945 fps from the 27, but 990 fps from the CM40. From the CM40, most factory 165gr and 155gr hover around 1100 fps, slightly more out of the 155gr. 180's run between 950-1000 fps and 135gr run about 1260 fps.

Here is my "mini-me" Kahr CW9 that I bought 7 years ago on my birthday. Great shooting little gun, and easy to carry. I have the Don Hume and Desantis holsters, and which one gets used depends on what I am wearing.
