History 101
The latest polls show McAuliffe leading Cuccinelli by about 5 percentage points. But the Libertarian candidate, Robert Sarvis, polls as high as 10%. Gun owners voting for Sarvis could well throw the election to McAuliffe. This is clearly a case in which the "perfect" is the enemy of the good.[/QUOTE]
Amen!
Remember Ross Perot in the Presidential elections of '92 and '96? His supporters "voted their conscience" thereby splitting the conservative vote, and we ended up with Bill Clinton as a result. It's good this lesson is not lost and is being brought to light for the benefit of those less familiar with political realities.
Best wishes, Virginia!
