I have an sp-01 at present that I can carry when weather permits but it feels a little on the heavy side for carry and was considering trading it out for a p-01.

I have no issue giving up 2 rounds for a more concealable package, especially when we are talking about cutting 15oz from the weight of the gun. But it raises the question of how much am I giving up for that in terms of reacquiring the sights and over all muzzle flip/recoil?

Anyone who has experience with either please chime in.

I prefer my SP-01 Shadow at the range, but I don't know that I would want to try and carry it. I use a PCR Pro-tek for carry and it fits quite nicely. As for shootability, I do shoot the larger gun better but both are great shooters. If you're looking for a carry gun, I'd def. consider a P-01 or PCR - but I'd try to keep the SP-01 too if at all possible. :)

P01's are nice guns. I prefer my PCR for carry since it is a little slimmer on the end. The P01 rides the dresser next to the bed.

Use a full size(16 round mag) with an SP-01 bottom and you have a compact C that carries 16 rounds while fitting flush with the frame.

How do you like your SP-01? That is the next thing on my list to pick as soon as the gun fund replenish itself some more........

truthfully, I am a revolver guy, and I just feel like something is wrong when I have a semi auto in my hand. That being said, of the countless semi autos I have handled and shot, the sp-01 simply feels the best and being that semis just seem to do some things better I feel it is worth while to have one.

So at any given time I will have one semi auto, and if I get another one, it is probably because I got rid of the previous one. My wife has been lusting after my sp-01 for sometime, if I "trade" in the sp-01 it will most likely be given to my wife to justify the next purchase, it won't go anywhere, it just won't be mine anymore.

I also have a 75D PCR which as previously explained is pretty similar to the P-01 but without the rail. If you don't mind the rail, and many don't, get the P-01. They seem to be more available than the PCR, and are a top notch, all around 9MM.

Same here man. Typically, when I buy a revolver, if I like it enough to buy, it stays in my collection. I've only ever traded away a j frame before because it was made obsolete by another gun.

If the SP will stay home, then it sounds like a good purchase to me.

I love the compact size and design of my P-01. Has a great balance and feel to it and the ergonomics are first rate.

In terms of accuracy you are going to lose nothing. The SP-01 is a softer shooter at the range but the P-01 has the decocker which I prefere in a self defence pistol. For carry there's no comparison at all.

I have a CZ 75 Compact, which is very similar. Great gun. You will never regret owning it or shooting it. I've never had any problems of any kind with mine; soft shooting, accurate, and comfortable. They also break in nicely, so the more you shoot it the better it gets.

If you read the latest issue of Combat Handguns you will find an evaluation of the PCR. The author stated that the P01 and PCR have short chambers which will not allow the use of Speer Golddots in 124 gr. I do not believe his assertions. I think that he had out of spec ammunition.

P01 a great gun. I was shopping for a PCR but they had none and P01 is great. Sometimes hard to find.

I think I've seen someone put a TS slide on a SP-01 and some custom slides on stock lowers but I believe it takes some fitting.

I don't know if you want a P01 or not I carry a cz 75b IWB and the weight is not a problem it carries better than my glock 17 I would be more worried about the thickness of the gun.

The short answer is yes. If you can find one, buy it. Ergonomics are first rate, and the trigger is buttery smooth. CZ makes a fine product.

I own a P-01 and a PCR love them both,Actually the wife stole the P-01 and I replaced it with a very hard to find PCR.Ergo,s In My opinion are second to none.

The wife has officially stolen my sp-01 :/ I really need to try and find a p-01 to handle to see if I like the way it points better etc.

I have been edc'n a P-01 for quite awhile now. It is interesting how I ended up with it. I was mesmerized by a photo of a P-07. Then, when I went to the website, I saw the P-01 and knew it would fit my needs: small enough to lug around, big enough to be a fun shooter (I am a one gun kinda guy).

So..... I ordered a P-01 having never touched one or even seen one in person (I'm like that). It is everything I hoped for. HOWEVER, I do NOT consider the P-01 ready as is. I have not modified mine yet, but consider doing so a MUST. For one it comes without night sights, that has to be changed. Also the trigger blows goats. The trigger is smooth but weighs a ton. Cajun Gun Works can remedy that. The guy who runs the biz is 100% str8 too. If you buy the $45 spring off him then decide you want the full package he offers, he knocks the price of the spring off. Good guy and I believe he can transform the gun into a much better shooter.

So.... buy a P-01? Hellz yea! Think yer finished there? Nope! By the time I get everything I want for mine done, I will probably have $1,200 into it but it will be the smoothest sickest carry piece I could dream of. Some of that money is for the extended threaded bbl which u may or may not need.

Agree stock sights leave a bit to be desired. Agree trigger it a bit rough, not as bad as some in its class. Trigger does smooth out over time but i do not know of any stock trigger that cannot be made better by fine tuning. Built like a tank and I have total confidence in it.
