Still doesn't change the fact that December 25th is the date chosen by Christians for centuries to commemorate the birth of Jesus.

Yeah there was a pagan, Roman I believe, holiday in December that was in place before Rome was Christianized through Emperor Constantine, who changed the official religion of the Roman empire to Christianity. The date was then chosen because it correlated with the "old" pagan festivals, presumably to make the transition easier for those who had not yet become saved through Jesus Christ.

Or at least thats what I was taught in Latin class.....
