In Washington, Firearms Academy of Seattle (not in Seattle, btw) has a revolver specific seminar, and the lower level classes don't preclude it. I'd assume if the instructor can teach a revolver seminar, he'll have no problem teaching revolver carrying students in the other classes, so you can always inquire. Insights in Bellevue also has a revolver specific class. Theirs has no prerequisite.

Any decent instructor should be able to accommodate you using a revolver in any of his basic classes.

The last class I took with Tom Givens was a standard defensive pistol class. Everyone showed up with a semi-auto. I shot the entire class with a 3" S&W Model 10. When Tom needed to, he gave me revolver-specific instruction and training. For instance, during the tap/ rack/bang drills I practiced something else.

Providing your location may help.

I live in Alaska and am about to move to Oklahoma, however I am not apposed to flying somewhere for good training.

My trouble has been I am not a semi guy, and most of everything is geared towards semi's. I know some instructors will accommodate the odd revolver in their class, but so few specialize in it.

I'm not a "revolver guy" but I am rediscovering what you revolver guys have always known- that the wheelgun has a lot of advantages! Over the years I've had quite a few revolvers including a K-frame and one N-frame and numerous Tauri (Tauruses?). None of them ever "stuck" although I liked all of them. But a few months ago after maybe 20 years without one I finally got another wheelie, a Ruger LCR. Man, am I ever impressed! Sure it lacks the glamor and "tacticool factor" of my HKs but it's light, very easy to conceal and runs like a sewing machine.

I will probably be getting more revolvers down the road. And I too would like to get some wheelgun-specific training, if possible.

What kind of revolvers are generally considered appropriate for these kinds of classes? I see classes geared towards snub noses which is definitely nice to see, but on the flip side I usually am carrying an sp101 and would prefer to bring that to classes.

Clint Smith is a proponent of the fighting revolver. Check out Thunder Ranch's offerings.

Ditto on Claude - if you carry a snubby, it's a great class.
