This is the stuff currently available at Wal-Mart for around $12 per box of 25. It's made in Spain for Tulammo. Anybody know if this is just some type of rebranded European ammo?

I don't know all about it, but I have a few boxes. It patterns pretty much like the Winchester military grade.

I've picked up some Herter's 00 buck, $4.95 for 10 rounds, nothing wrong with that stuff, goes Boom and splatters whatever it hits. Not familiar with your brand.

Actually, I bought a bunch of that Suprema myself, not 00 buck, the bird shot loads. I like them actually, much better than the Win. Universals that I bought some years back, which are also a Wally World thing, and that I'll never use again. The Suprema's hulls look like they might be decent for reloading, don't know yet, but they look very similar to AA's, all our SG's like them.

What I should do, and probably will do, is rip one apart and see what wad is being used in them, I'm betting it's the same design as the AA, but the hull appears to be basically the same.

I bought a couple of boxes some days ago, just for fun. These loads have performed OK in my Mossy 500. Excellent pattern and moderate recoil. As long as I know, Suprema buckshot loads are made by Maxxam for Tulammo. Maxxam is also the manufacturer of RIO, which are well known loads here in the USA.

I will say that Suprema is not made the same as Rio. The Rio buckshot I have is roll-crimped and the Suprema is fold-crimped. This isn't a big deal if your gun is chambered for 3" shells, but if it's 2 3/4", you may lose 1 shell capacity with roll-crimped shells.

It says "extreme performance" on a big gold medallion on the box... I think that's all that needs to be said, this stuff is probably excellent.

:neener:

In reality, I have seen this stuff around. I'd buy it for the right price, looks like some good training ammo when full recoil/semi-auto functioning is needed.

I had a Rio target load jam my 870 so they won't be seeing my SG anymore. It must not like that roll crimp?
I had to tap it out thru the barrel. I have yet to see Suprema in my area but I'll try it out when I can. Our Academy stores have very good prices on shotshells. They had four brands of target loads at $54 for 250.

I shoot a lot of RIO, first in my O/U and now in my gas gun and have never had an issue. I have gotten some bad Estates that were belled out at the top so they wouldn't feed in the gas gun, but they were shootable in the O/U by mashing them in.

I bought some of the 7.5 and 8 shot for my Mossberg 930 and H&R, they appear to work just fine. I got some Suprema 00 buck as it was $12 for a box of 25.
