Yes.
It is a sporterized 1917 Enfield.

The extreme drop of the stock would be better suited to iron sights then the scope now mounted on it.

It will bust your chops hitting you in the jaw bone when you hold your head up high enough to see through the scope.

The actual arsenal how made it is stamped on the front receiver ring under the scope base.
Yoy will have to take it off to see if Remington, Eddystone, or Winchester made it.

I think I see holes for a peep sight base, which would work better with the stock drop.
The sporterizing looks of a much older style than the scope. I would not be surprised if it were done in the 1930s or in the 1950s by someone stuck in prewar styling. Barrel bands have not been common for many many years.

That stock design is very similar to the commercial version of the 1917 rifle which was known as the Model 30 Remington.

Reminds me of the one I saw at a LGS the other day. Somewhere in the past, someone cut the peep sight off and replaced it with a screwed on (Lyman?) peep sight...

Someday I'd really like to find one that still has the original sights. They were excellent.

VERY strong action too if I remember what Ackley wrote about it and ranks very well with the Mausers and early Arisaka's for strength and reliability.

I'd go with what was suggested and get a bigger cheek pad for a better weld...OR...mebbe find those peep sights it was drilled for and really have some fun. :)
