Ummm... is this rifle being sold like in the picture?

Yep. It is a ban-state model. Several states with AWBs do not allow any evil features on semi-auto rifles, and a pistol grip is universally considered one of those features by legislators. Now if your rifle has no evil features, and isn't specifically banned by name, you are good to go.

Remember - guns don't kill people, pistol grips kill people.

yeah i get that, but with the trigger where it is on that one you can't really even use it without a pistol grip:banghead:, if the trigger was at the very back of the reciever like on a unconverted saiga then yeah you could put a monte carlo on there or something, make it more like a sporting rifle

Yeah, it wouldn't be very comfortable to shoot. But for shooters living in a ban state, it's either that AK or nothing.

If you don't like it, make sure to keep your state free and vote for pro-gun politicians.

It was my understanding that in CA (cause I'm currently staying ther and AR-15s still have pistol grips, haven't seen any AKs at all though) pistol grips are legal, just no HiCap mags, it has to have a bullet button, and no functioning folding stocks.

"California Legal", or "California Stupid?"

This is what legal perversion manifests itself as. Look upon it, and seethe :fire:

Well, these AR's don't look much better...

Maybe there's a similar product that fits on AK's?
Perhaps after buying the rifle, the owner then buys an adapter to make the thing at least theoretically shootable?

Do you suppose that the real goal of all the nit picking legislation aimed at "evil features", is to make anyone carrying one of the modified weapons look like such a total dork that nobody would want to be seen actually holding one?

^not to go to far off topic, but it's not a matter of "vote for pro-gun politicians", it's a matter of people's general ignorance of firearms, the irrational fear of inanimate objects, and the taking of BS "fiction" in films, TV, MSM, ect. as "fact/truth". back on topic, yeah that is a "funky" looking AKM, "Mikhail" is probably rolling in his grave.

Its sad. But im glad they found a loophole to legally own rifles. At least the ar's look like they have better ergos. My hat goes off to them

About 10 years ago I had a AK with a conventional wood stock no pistol grip. It was ok but I decided it had no advantage over a 7400 for hunting and sold it.

Both those rifles the AR and AK and your last sentence on post 13. Had me chuckling out loud.

If I was a producer of firearms, I would be embarassed to have a rifle that looks like that in my product line.

Then again, it fills a niche that needs filling and I'am sure it's profitable niche at that.

yeah, but why not make the trigger group and stock like that of a Saiga rifle so it's actually usable, and still CA legal?
