My safe is 48 cubic feet and is kept inside the house so it gets heating/cooling like in every other room.
I heard various opinions on dehumidifiers....some says it is a waste of time in my situation others say to get one.
Well tonight I did pick a Remington Mini Dehumidifier Mod. 365 which you can "recharge" periodically out of a wall outlet.
The other choice was the H2Out drum that you have to periodically bake in the oven.
My safe does not have any power plug inside and I cannot reach the back hole for a power cord anymore anyway since the safe has been installed against the wall and bolted down...so the "always on" dehumidifiers are out.
So what is your take?? Is that a good dehumdifier?? It gets good reviews online...should I get the H2Out instead?? Do I really need a dehumidifier anyway?? Before I got the safe, I kept the guns in the same room inside a closet and they did never show any signs of rust.

Thanks!!!

While safe dehumidifiers work, they only protect what's in the safe. In my case, not all of my toys are in the safe. I also have reloading equipment and tools that I don't want to have rust. So, I use a small home dehumidifier instead so that everything in the room is protected. I haven't had any trouble over 20 years.
