On sale today for $350, so I made sure to take a good look.

The two I looked at had good case coloring and a wet looking blue/black steel finish, but the brass trigger guard was almost unfinished in comparison and very small. Can't imagine using gloves with it. I know the brass is a cost saving feature but it looks out of place on a 44 Magnum. Combined with the oversized grip it doesn't feel very SAA like, at least not in the 4 &3/4" trim. A long barrel may balance out the feel.

Lock up was tight and if you are on a budget it might be a good shooter.

Reg. price is $450 in these parts.

I've had the Cabela's .45 Colt Pietta for a few years now and it is one solid gun. Mine is dinged, dented and a little rusty but hardly worn out. Great shooter for $300.

I don't really need another wrist twister. The EAA BBBH and Ruger BH .45 Colt do that very well, with their 4.something" barrels and +P .45 Colt loads.

I would be interested in the Uberti or Pietta SAA copy in 44 Spl (if available) or .45 Colt.

I must admit, being a convertible, my BH has enamored me of the .45 ACP in a SA revolver.
Being able to use 1911 mags as speed loaders is nice when I want to spend a day shooting it.

When it comes to .44 mag, I think I'll stick to my Ruger RH, Taurus M44, and Marlin 1894P.
The 7.5" Ruger is heavy.
The Taurus has an expansion chamber comp.
The Marlin is a carbine.
All three mitigate .44 mag recoil quite nicely.

But, that is a sweet deal for a .44 mag. I didn't even know Pietta made one.

I have a 44 mag Vaquero with a 7.5 inch barrel, I want another with the 5.5. Just haven't come across one yet at the right price.

44 mag is one of my favorite calibers to mess around with. Cowboy loads to real bear thumpers are easily made at home. Like I said, price alone made made me take a look at the Pietta.

.44 Mag is very versatile.
The Pietta is definitely priced right.

I like the one with the sort of Bisley grip frame and hammer.
