I love my Molon Labe hat (thanks Larry!) and get loads of questions about it. I can't always spend as much time as I like explaining everything. What about a business card? I could keep some on me and hand them out as needed? What say you? Any ideas for a message? Anybody print business cards?

How about a reference to Thermopaele (sp?) and the web address for THR and any other of your favorite 2nd Amendment sites or gun sites. Call around to different printers in your area for comparison shoping, or, if you have a printer for your 'puter, get some plain card stock from Office Max, Office Depot, etc and do them up yourself.
Good Luck!

only1asterisk, I like that idea. If nobody bites on getting a bunch made and selling them (I'd buy), I'll make my own.

Somewhere in this wreck of a computer room I've got one of those business card printing programs and some blank cards.
Maybe under that stack of papers with the spare keyboard on top?.....nope
On the software shelf? What the heck would it be doing there?
Oh well, it's here somewhere.

There's also this:

ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕʹ

Which is displayed when you type this:

ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕʹ
In HTML -- or into a THR forum post.

I might have the accents on the last character wrong. I'm not entirely sure.

I can get cards from Office Depot or one of the local printers in the area (the better option IMHO). If anyone here does this kind of work for a living I'd prefer to send my friends and allies business.

What I really need help with is with the message. I'm having trouble with a complete, concise message that will fit in the space available. I'd really like some help in this area. I'll post my ideas and let those interested critique them.

My best effort. I hope someone can do better!

2500 years ago, a small force of Greeks defended a narrow pass at Thermopylae against the massive armies of the Persian king Xerxes. Outnumbered a hundred to one, the defenders faced certain death. Xerxes knew that the Greeks were trying to delay his advance until an opposing army could be raised. He offered a proposition. He would allow them to leave with their lives if they would only surrender their weapons. The Spartan king Leonidas, commander of the Greeks, sent a defiant reply:
MOLON LABE
Come and take them! The Greeks held the pass for three days before the last Spartan succumbed to the arrows of Persian archers. The words lived on and were used again as recently as the war for Texas independence, when the Mexican army demanded American settlers turn over their artillery they responded “Come and take it!â€

MOLON LABE
Today, defenders of a basic human right, the right to be armed have taken the ancient and honored challenge as their cry. They hope their opposition has learned the lessons of history.
MOLON LABE

This is cut down to the point it will fit a card, but I'd like it to read better and look good. I don't really have these kinds of skills.

You can go on line @ Avery and get the business card formatting for Word, or use what comes in Word. I'm afraid you will never get all of the verbage, as stated above, on a business card unless it's about 5x7. As others have said, you can get the Avery perforated card stock at the office supply stores. I use it all the time.

I happen..

to work at a print shop here in Iowa. I would be glad to shoot you a price on cards etc. We could even do them up as thermo printing with the raised lettering and make em look really sharp. Heck take orders on here and we will can do several thousand if need be to share with members on here?

I would sugest a link to the explanation of the phrase?

shoot me an e-mail at [email protected] if interested?

later
