New to 9mm been loading mostly for my SR1911. Just not yet grouping well with the 9. 115 gr lead RN over 4-4.3 gr BE. So far only 115. FMJ. Seems to shoot better but a little hard on the wallet. I'm gonna try Unique before I give up on these bullets. If I gotta shoot FMJ it's gonna cut into my range time.

Lead bullets in 9mm can be a challenge. It took me quite a few bullet styles and powders to find something that worked for me. Bullet diameter is very important, and unless you cast your own it is often tough to get exactly what you need.

Have you looked at plated? I reload with Berry's and Rainier, both good bullets. I have always gotten better accuracy with 124gr in 9mm.

That makes sense. I only have 2-300 rounds through it. Reloading FMJ IS an improvement over factory, but the lead not much.

I'd recommend trying heavier lead. I have a supply of 130 grain tumbled flat noses that do very well in my sigs. Fitting the barrel is important as well.

For my LC9 i've been loading a 124g .356 RNBB from Dardas over 3.9g of TG. 1.125 OAL.
I'm not getting any heavy leading at all and I have had zero problems with feeding or extraction

I like Missouri Bullet Company 124 gr. LRN "Small Ball."

Over 4.3 gr. Bullseye it works great. OAL is 1.116".

I get better results with lead bullets than plated bullets. I'm o fan of plated bullets. It's probably not the bullet but the load. I have been shooting 124gr Missouri bullets over W231 and that is a very accurate load for me. I had 500 115gr LRN bullets and loaded them over 4.4gr w231 and they were also accurate.

OP, what do you consider accurate? Even id they are not very accurate you can still practice for most shooting disciplines, I guess other than a Bullseye match.

I just got some of these to try (again). I'm a bit disappointed. They are measuring only .355 on average, with an occasional reading of .355 1/2. This does not bode well. I think they need to beagle their molds by at least a mil. They advertise them at .356, and even at that, they ought to be shooting for the over.

If they don't work, I'm gonna melt them and cast up some more of my 124 gr tumble lube bullets at .357/8. They work great with no leading, but only after I started flaring with a 38S&W expander. I thought I'd give MBC another try with the new expander. But unfortunately, this can't make those little bullets any bigger, lol.

I am happy with my MBC 357, 40, and 45 cal bullets, though. Heck, I might be happy with the Small Ball, too, with the new expander. But I'm not holding my breath.

I had a poor time with lead bullets in my 2, 9s until I slugged my barrels. I had to go to .358" to get an accurate, non-leading load. I now shoot a lot of Lee 125 RNFP, cast from wheel weight alloy (BHN 12) sized to .358" with Carnauba Red lube. I've tried several different powders but since I've got a lot of TiteGroup, I've been using that. I also use the same bullet in my 3" .38 Spec.

Are you sure it's the load? I have a lot of 9mm's including an LC9s. I wouldn't rate it 'among the best' for accuracy. Not what it's meant for.

My plinking 9mm load is 115gr CMJ Montana Gold and my max accuracy (and subsonic) load is 147gr XTP. I get great groups with either from guns like a P229, P226, P220, 92F, VP9, etc, but not so much with the LC9s or P95. Both those Rugers have many great qualities, but precision or bullseye shooting isn't among them.

GLOOB,

You made me jump up and do some measuring.

I grabbed a box of MBC Smallball dated July 22, 2013. Every single one of the dozen or so I measured was .3565" exactly. Perfect.

Like I said in post #7. I like 'em. They work good.

If yours are out of spec for sure, call MBC and they'll make it good.

Well I have no real reason to complain about the trigger pull other than length. It is fortunately smooth. I'm shooting probably 4" at 7 yds. Which is capable. But not really grouping at 7 yds.

This is a new gun right? Have you demonstrated any reasonable accuracy from it yet?

The reason I ask is that this may be a problem with the gun, or the shooter. I would investigate those options first before I started tweaking all of my loads to chase accuracy in an unproven firearm.

There is no doubt that any gun shoots better than I do. These two targets are I believe 115gr FMJ Hornady's over 4 gr (left) and 4.3 gr (right) of Bullseye 10 rounds each. I was hoping to duplicate that load in lead. But no luck, yet. I guess plated would be the the next step.
